    Morning folks!

Another one with a cold here! 2nd in the last month or so:mad:

Wasn't around yesterday due to a LONG day at work and not got time to skim yesterdays thread as I'm painting DS1's room today ( when I've got him out of bed:rolleyes: ) so if I've missed anything important I'm so sorry!
My dogs didn't wee on the floor last night, they just woke me up twice to let them out!

Hope you get some relief at the Drs Catowen

BertieMeldrew - Jack Russells are very clever when it comes to food aren't they! mine sneaked upstairs when the babygate was left open and scoffed all the BOGOF choccies and cakes that I'd stored under the bed, there was wrappers everywhere:rotfl: and he'd got a big fat belly!

Hope all my fellow sufferers feel better soon!

Back later when I take a coffee break from painting!

Have a good day all xx
    Do what you love :happyhear

Oh dear, lots of poorly people today *hugs*

I am feeling quite chipper-despite it being monday morning. It's quite peaceful as the students don't get out of bed early, so i can get things done!

Had a lovely weekend with Mum, Dad, Sister, Uncle, 4 cousins, 2 cousins husbands and 5 babies (from 3 of 4 cousins). We all haven't been in the same country in 4 1/2 years so it was great. :j trying to get a photo of the 5 little ones when all were awake and not crying was a task and half (they range in age from 2 1/2 years to 3 months). the BF held up very well to the massed ranks of my family! :D

better get on-no OS while at work (apart from packed lunch) but my veggie box arrives this evening so i shall be busy cooking and freezing.

Know how you feel! I have been "told off" when sanctioning my eldest son (just turned 6) and it really bugs me, but I don't let it get to me. It's your child, and you're the one who has to put up with tantrums etc at home when the little monster puts his or her strop on after they get their way with the grandparents!

    Hope you feel better soon!

Queenie, I think it's a peritonsillar abcess or possibly what they call strep throat in the US. It was certainly a pus filled abcess in my throat though. Think quinzy is the old fashioned term for it but it's what the doctor used and when I googled it all I got was info on people dying in the 18th century with it!!

First time I had it I was 24 hours from being in hospital, it's not very nice.

Not sure I've clarified anything for you though. :o

BTW - many thanks for the links the other day, haven't had much of a chance to look at them yet.

... Then I went up to my MIL's for tea. The meal was lovely but DD played up something rotten, she certainly knows what buttons to push with grandma. Consequently I ended up coming home and crying as the in-laws make me feel like such a carp parent. Anyway I've got to back there in 10 minutes to face serious questioning about how she was when we got in, dont think she'll beleive me that she went to bed fine with some Calpol as she was obivously teething. ..

((hugs)) I think you are doing a wonderful job of that often thankless task called "parenting" ((hugs))

 Hmm, "serious questioning" ? Remember the old fashioned arsenal of defense sentences:-
(For any perceived critisism) "I follow/ed my maternal instincts/my instincts were spot on, again ;) "
(To any unwelcome advice): "How interesting! I hadn't thought of that. Thank you for sharing that with me :) " Then carry on your own sweet way ;)

Always remember: Grandparents are often well intentioned and don't realise how their comments can demoralise even the strongest of parents.
Ultimately, if you are not exposing your child to danger/corruption - try to take what they say with a pinch of salt because you *know* you are doing your best for your child. ((hugs)) Mother's Instincts are a very powerful thing!
It was put down to MI by the hospital when I awoke in the middle of the night to check on my eldest son (he was 10yo at that time) only to find him having a Grand Mal fit face down in his bed. Thank goodness for Mothers Instinct!! Trust yours!!

MimiF - Thank goodness it's the 21st century!! Sounds dreadful! Even more get well vibes on the way.

    Loubee - :D:D:D Your cheery post made me :D:D:D :T :T

Anyone fancy popping over for a coffee, hm doughnut and ... chestnut peeling session  :rotfl:

    Morning all

Just home from tennis session. DS actually joined in - didn't look like he would at first so I resorted to bribery. Then he enjoyed it (knew he would) and seems to have forgotten about the bribe - I'll wait and see. Of course he had to be the one without a partner when it came to pairing up - doesn't seem to have bothered him though. He's talking about going back tomorrow.

I didn't sleep well last night. Slugs in the kitchen again - I think I'll have to set some beer traps for them. DH can empty them in the morning. They are my real hate (slugs, not beer). Once I saw them I couldn't stop thinking about them all night, imagining them climbing the stairs etc.

Off to pull pasta out of freezer for tonight.

Might order new dining room table and chairs - can't decide between two options. Light or dark wood? I am rubbish with decisions.

    Have fun everyone.
