    Hello again,

I was intending on a fiercely productive day, but given my state of health, saw sense and had a relatively relaxing one instead :D

Popped out for a couple of hours to go to the postal depot, pick up some foody items, go to the card shop for my brother (about to be 21) and cousin (who became a dad this morning - yayyy!), collect my dry cleaning etc.

Then heated up some fish pie for lunch, dozed in front of Grand Designs and The Two Ronnies for a couple of hours, watched X Factor, stuck a chilli on to cook and now am watching telly again while waiting for (a) chilli to be done and (b) other bit of X Factor ;)

I actually VOTED on X factor tonight, I *think* for the first time ever - voted for Ben...

All in all, the relaxing day has virtually got rid of my nasty cold.

    See you later
    Rzl xx

Went to see elderly relatives 80 miles away and we all went for a meal to celebrate DDs 21st birthday. At this rate they will have more birthdays than the queen!! lol

Had cake and champagne to follow back at their house later on.

DH's best friend lives a few miles from them, and his mobile phone had not been answering when DH tried to contact him - so we popped in to see how he was.

No answer at house so we knocked on neighbours door - to be told that his friend had died on the 3rd of October, suddenly of a blood clot that travelled to his heart.

We are really shocked as we only saw him three weeks ago when he came to visit us for a couple of days and helped with my dad's flat. DH was going to visit to return the favour in a week or so.

Especially shocking as the friend was nearly three years younger than DH!!!

After three deaths in three months I feel like "Typhoid Mary"

Big hug to everyone and Happy birthday!:bdaycake:

    I've been Money Tipped!
((((Hugs)))) Elona! What a horrible shock for you all. I guess we all have to make the most of every day.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22/10/06This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:hello: Gooooood Morning, fellow OS'ers :):)

It's pitch black outside, so the chook n quails are going to have to wait a bit for their breakfast; my outside lights aren't working and I haven't discovered the reason yet.

Football match for d12yo today. So far his team have lost every match of the season (poor love's, they work so hard too) but it's bucketing down so there's a possibility that it may be cancelled; if not, it'll be wellies and wax jacket for me! Either way, it's slow cooker lamb casserole today

Got a lovely lot of chestnuts yesterday and they'll all need cooking up and picking over, but that will have to wait until later.

Thank you for the messages and PM's of support, I'm back on track now and back to listening to a meditation tape :o

I'm hoping that, as I'm the first this morning, it means everyone is having a peaceful sleep.

elona - ((hugs)) How deeply shocking for you and dh. I am so, so sorry ((hugs))

frugalfairy - I'm pleased those links brought a :) to your day :D

Off to grab enjoy a peaceful cuppa before the hustle and bustle of the day begins.

((hugs)) to those who need/want them and good wishes to you all.
