bargain_babe wrote:Good morning to everyone and happy birthday to Joannas mum x
I have lurked around nosing on this thread for a while and thought I would let you know how nice it is to see everyone being nice to everybody else instead of complaining and generally enjoying upsetting people (like on some other threads).
I am a money saving, working mum of three, I just wish I had more time to do more stuff OS - (it might help if I get off of the computer!) The family enjoy cooking at the weekend so we do enjoy the recipes and I no longer buy loads of household cleaners!
I have some searching to do today, the cat knocked a vase into the toilet (of all places!) the vase is fine, but the toilet bowl has a hole right through it! Its a shame as we moved into a new house 10 years ago and I wasn't intending on replacing the cloakroom suite, just yet. But as it's coloured - I suppose we'll have to replace with a new white suite. I don't want to claim on the insurance in case it ups the premium.
My first internet shopping from Asda should arrive today (nothing OS about that, I know!) but it means I can get on with housework!
I hope you dont mind me encroaching onto this thread - its really nice to hear about you all - have a lovely day - take care xxx
It really would be worth phoning your insurance company - you may have a clause in your policy that includes "matching sets" - might mean you get up to half the cost of the new bathroom suite to match the loo and I doubt your premium would go up more than it's going to cost you to buy a whole new bathroom suite yourself."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Queenie, thank you so much! They look really interesting, I hadn't seen anything like that before.
Looks as though they would be great gifts for teenage girls methinks, especially the cushions on the video clip link.
Thanks again!

Afternoon all!
Just thought id have a quick browse on here before getting started on some jobs, had a strange day at work really, it went very fast and then my last customer of the day offended me quite badly so I told her off!! I then went and told my boss that she may well complain next week, explained the circumstances and myself and he said not to worry, if she shows her face he'll have her for breakfast as she was a cheeky so and so! Yey - go boss!!! I particularly love this one as I think we are so similar, the same obscure tastes and caffeine addicts.
Anyway, I got the bus home and it started tipping it down 2 stops before i got off, and continued until I had literally stepped inside the front door like a drowned rat 5 mins later. Its now beautifully sunny. Looks like someone upstairs is having fun with me today!
The fish seems to have perked up a bit, I think he may well have been constipated! Fingers crossed he will be back to his old self before bedtime. OH is currently at work (woohoo!) and wont be back for a couple of hours giving me time to have a good clean up and get dinner on in peace.
Happy Birthday to Joannasmum!
Congratulations to Mrs and Mr Ancasta!!

Hello to everyone!
Still going on the radical tidy/bin/clean of 1 room each day over half term. The bags of stuff for the charity shop are growing and the children are now all joining in! Took all 3 swimming on my own this morning (DH gone off with the boys for a track day) so feeling very virtuous! Just off to cook HM breaded turkey steaks with cheesy nachos and pasta - odd combination but the children like it!0 -
Hi everyone, hope you are all having a really good day. Apart from broken loos and stuff.
Have been shopping to a Retail Outlet today with DD1. Left at 8.30am and just got back.
Got loads of stuff some new bedding, some Xmas pressies, some pjs and some undies.
2 lots of Starbucks coffees and cakes so not very OS!!!
Not sure what to have for dinner so not very OS again. I am not very good at OS but I do try.
Better go show my face or DH will feel more neglected.

Hi to everyone on MSE:hello:,
Have not posted for a while, but still around. I have had a busy day cooking a roast dinner, making pumpkin chutney, and marrow and apple jam. have just put DS to bed, and enjoying a bit of time for myself.
Hope you have had a nice birthday Joannasmum. I have been a bit worried about my mum, as she found a lump in her breast the other day, and needs to go for a biopsy and mammogram in the next 2 weeks. Fingers crossed all will be okay.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend. POwie...A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Hello everyone
Happy Birthday Joannasmum
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Ancasta - can't wait for the photos!!
Not an incredibly OS day today as had to work this afternoon, but managed to nip to Tesco this morning and buy the last few ingredients for my chutneys, so managed to make a Sweet Date Chutney and a Mango Chutney before work - they'll do nicely for my parents' Xmas hamper - I just hope they taste ok  Will buy some "just in case" in the week before Xmas so that I can still return them if my HM ones taste ok!! :rotfl:
OH is at Ice Hockey until 9.30 - our team is winning 4-2 at the minute :j It was BOGOF on tickets tonight but stupid boss made me work until after the start so by the time I'd have got there it'd have been 1/2 way though!
I have *another* full day off tomorrow so will try and catch up on washing as well as X-faxtor (I've recorded tonight's to watch in bed tomorrow)
Hope everyone has a lovely lazy sunday... and just think, this time next week it'll be 24hrs til the kids are back at school :rotfl: :rotfl: (except for Queenie, who I think mentioned that her kids don't start back until the week before Xmas :rotfl: )0
