Happy Birthday Joannasmum
Wet and windy down here this morning, so going to catch up on making christmas presents and cards today.
Also got a lot of typing of information for our new Town Guide which will keep me busy this weekend.
There will be quite a few tourists around as it is half term which means the A30 will be busy again so not point in travelling anywhere - a good excuse to stay at home this weekend and not spend money.0 -
:hello: G'morning, fellow OS'ers
:bdaycake: Many Happy Returns of the Day, johannasmum :bdaycake:
Up a bit later than usual today, strange because I even fell asleep on the sofa last night (most unlike me).
Thanks Amanda and good luck with your banana plant! I shall be looking forward to reading about your first hm grown nana
It's a brunch day today, d12yo has footie practice midday and then we're off to the woods. We *will* get those chestnuts! SC meal can do it's stuff until we return

mrs - mix - have you posted in the I Wanna board re: your microwave? It would be a shame if your question was swallowed up in the Daily and it didn't get the attention it deserves.
Have a lovely Saturday everyone:wave:

Morning everyone
:j :j Happy Birthday Joannasmum :j :j
I slept well here last night as did the children. The kids still both have colds but nothing major.
Oh needs to work from home today  so I will try and keep the kids busy, we might walk into town and rent a couple of dvd's and pick something up for dinner, maybe then walk down to the river and feed the ducks, I live in Cambridge and am going to miss it when we leave. Ds needs to tidy his bedroom and I might wrap some christmas pressies with the kids which although sounds early, needs to be done as they have to go to New Zealand and Oz.
I am looking forwards to tonight, a nice soak in the bath followed by the X Factor with the kids and OH. I am attempting to knit ds a Dennis the menace style scarf which he is desperate for me to finish so I will do some of that at the same time.
Have a good weekend everyone0 -
Morning All,
Happy Birthday Joannasmum!!!
Got up early as thought DD had ballet, checked calendar and it finished last week so I got up for nothing. Never mind, we'll have a leisurely morning I think.
OS wise, will put a loaf in the BM shortly and then make flapjacks and a weetabix loaf once I've bought some milk. Given that all my money is currently floating around in banking nowhere land and probably won't appear until Mon/Tues this weekend will be a quiet (and cheap) one. May visit my brother and SIL later.
Beds to make and a bit of hoovering and dusting upstairs to do but house is surprisingly neat and tidy, hardly any washing to do either (I think the fairies must have visited last night!!)
Queenie, read your post from last night, don't worry was just a blip, you're doing wonderfully!!
Practised a little more embroidery last night, am getting there, did some pretty flowers etc. I am trying to follow proper stitches but keep getting carried away and doing my own thing which sometimes turns out well, sometimes it doesn't. Am loving it though.
Have a happy OS day all.

Morning everybody :hello:
And a VERY HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY to Joannasmum
Also - after reading through yesterday evening's posts - CONGRATULATIONS to Ancasta and Mr. Ancasta on the wedding!
Still feeling rough this morning, think it's a combination of a cold-bug and the stress of being messed around by solicitors  So at the moment I'm still semi-lying in bed with my laptop on top of me. I do have to get up in a mo though as I really need to wash my hair, I have to go to the postal depot to pick up an item with underpaid postage, and I need a few fresh ingredients to top up on the stuff that's going into a chilli tonight. Though actually I might not do the chilli till tomorrow, cos I've still got stuff in the fridge which needs using up.
Will spend the rest of the day getting boxes packed and hopefully getting organised enough to list a couple of things on Freecycle.

:bdaycake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNASMUM:bdaycake:
Just had a lovely lie-in, and DD brought me up a lovely cup of tea too. Had a really bad night, as the cough i have had for weeks now is getting worse (think its heading for my chest) and kept me up all night. Might have to go to the doctors on monday if it doesnt improve.
Only plans for this weekend are to relax!!! Do need to take DS to football this morning (standing in a muddy field isnt going to do me any good, but never mind) and then completely non OS, we are having a McDonalds for lunch, and then after a quick wizz round MrTs, we are going home, locking the door and not coming out again until Monday!!! Already have the roast planned for tomorrow, and tonight we have Xfator and Ant and Dec, so if i get some nibbles, thats us happy!!!! Will tape Strictly Come Dancing to watch tomorrow, and then DSs team is playing football on the telly, so he will want to watch that so thats our weekend sorted!!!!
Right, need to have a shower, and i fancy some porridge for breakfast, so better move myself!!!!
Have a lovely day everyone (Jo, hope you find a new job soon!!)
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
morning all
not much doing here today have a freecycler coming round later to collect the travelling box will tidy up was going to do the garden but not sure of the weather will walk the dog in a mo usually send the kids but there is a family with 3 rottweillers near by who walk there dogs without any leadsi.e. just open the front door and then follow them 5 mins later i knew they had had a go at another dog round here but now they have actually attacked and savaged a dog and bitten the owner still no leads 3 dogs are too many with no control and they tend to walk in the dark on the park behind my house so you dont know they are there so now we cant let the kids walk the dog
then i will go shopping and just chill out
ps i have nothing against rottweillers i think they are lovely dogs in the right hands but 3 together form a pack and they need to be on the lead or the owner needs to at least have a lead with them! i place the blame for this firmly on the owners who need to be dealt with not the dogs0 -

It's an Australian website/magazine and it's wonderful (picked up loads of the mags at a craft fair earlier this year for ridiculous prices .. and I don't even embroider!! )

Good morning to everyone and happy birthday to Joannas mum x
I have lurked around nosing on this thread for a while and thought I would let you know how nice it is to see everyone being nice to everybody else instead of complaining and generally enjoying upsetting people (like on some other threads).
I am a money saving, working mum of three, I just wish I had more time to do more stuff OS - (it might help if I get off of the computer!) The family enjoy cooking at the weekend so we do enjoy the recipes and I no longer buy loads of household cleaners!
I have some searching to do today, the cat knocked a vase into the toilet (of all places!) the vase is fine, but the toilet bowl has a hole right through it! Its a shame as we moved into a new house 10 years ago and I wasn't intending on replacing the cloakroom suite, just yet. But as it's coloured - I suppose we'll have to replace with a new white suite. I don't want to claim on the insurance in case it ups the premium.
My first internet shopping from Asda should arrive today (nothing OS about that, I know!) but it means I can get on with housework!
I hope you dont mind me encroaching onto this thread - its really nice to hear about you all - have a lovely day - take care xxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0
