Good morning all.
This is early! Since we retired we have got into the habit of sleeping beyond 0800 at this time of the year. It'd be longer but with so many animals waiting for us to get up there's no way!
Today's activities mostly revolve around "battening the hatches" for the winter... moving stuff from the garden to the greenhouse etc etc. However, one job from earlier in the week needs to be completed. We've had a pair of Kestrels knocking about the garden for the last two weeks. I built a box for them but havn't managed to secure it in the tree yet - it needs to be pretty high up and earlier attempts nearly saw me fall out of the tree
They bred in some leylandii a couple of years ago at the bottom of the garden but we thought we'd try and entice them into a tree where we can watch them from the house. We already have a Tawny Owl box in good view (in which our resident pair have bred for the last five years)... what a lovely sight when the babies emerge
Anyway, whatever you do today I hope you have a great day!0 -
Morning all
Well much better night for me. DD1 (3) woke up Thursday night with cronic earache, trip to doctors and she has ear infection both ears, but she slept from 6pm last night until 6.20 this morning!!! Seems much brighter its just trying to keep her from running round so she does not wear herself out.
Will have a quick flick round the house before I head off for work (I hate working weekends but needs must).:(
So not much chance to get those jobs tackled today but I will make a rota up for the following week as its half term so no playschool for DD1. Got lots of jobs I want to tackle but need to build some fun activities into the days too.
Hope everyone has a good day:D0 -
Morning folks
Jockettuk - I am about 20-odd miles from Glasgow and it has been raining the last few days but the weather report is favourable for the next couple of days. If it's not blame GMTV!
Happy Birthday Joannasmum
Just getting myself ready for work. Only there until 1 so a short day. Hubby wants to go looking for a new car when I finish. I have told him we will look but not be buying
I am no longer a stardrops virgin. Tried it yesterday and "wow" is all I can say. My shower screen has never looked sparklier (and I have tried many things on that).
How strange is this? Yesterday I put a duvet cover, sheet and pillowcases into the washing machine and everything came back out but one of the pillowcasesI then assumed I never put it in the machine but it is nowhere to be found. Have told hubby to keep an eye out today.
Anyway must dash. Have a great day0 -

Morning!
A quick post from me this morning, im at work till 3. Not too many plans for the afternoon except start looking for a new job, my payroll department apparently 'overpaid' me last month and took it out of this months wages without informing me so im quite skint (apparently I should have 'noticed' - my wages looked fine!) and this was all caused by a reduction in contracted hours which was also a bloody nightmare so I have less this month that i would normally have on a part time contract!!! I spent half the morning in tears because of their screw up and its the last screw up they are going to make with me (there have been more too).
I told my boss yesterday that I am so close to quitting, and that im looking around for a new job. He doesnt want me to leave but understands given the stress my job has given me over the last couple of months.
Other halfs fish has been looking very sorry for itself over the last 24 hours so im concerned he might be dying - we have only had this one for a week!!! Mine is still going strong though and im doing everything I can to perk him up a bit. Fingers crossed though, oh will be devastated if he doesnt make it.
anyhoo, must dash, have got to battle a load of books on the bus with me for a freecycler who is collecting from my work place!
Have a lovely day all!

Hello all:wave: and a very happy birthday to Joannasmum :bdaycake:
Bertie Meldrew, your garden sounds absolutely wonderful! Owls and kestrels, how idyllic! I only have a bunch of noisy starlings and hundreds of ring necked doves in mine which drive the cat and the neighbours bonkers
Not sure how OS today is going to be. DD drove down from uni yesterday and is keen to go shopping with her old mum this morning  I'm not very good at shopping at the best of times and clothes shopping to me is the pits. However it will be nice to spend some time with DD as she's only here for a few days.
Tonight we've got concert tickets (DD is a musician) so we're looking forward to that. Not sure when or where we will eat today, but I made another loaf yesterday so there's plenty of sandwich potential around. Also made and potted up my Christmas mincemeat, it smelled divine and got me feeling all nostalgic for Christmasses past.
Skystar, that happened to me and when I looked properly in my washing machine, the pillowcase was stuck flat against the drum, couldn't see it from just looking in, I had to virtually climb into the machine to get it!
Breakfast: toast
Lunch: ?
Dinner? How shamefully un-OS :rotfl:
Have a great day, everyone!

Morning all :hello:
Happy Birthday Joannasmum :bdaycake:
Was depsperate for a good night's sleep last night and all was going welll until DS2 appeared saying he'd wet his bed (a bit) but I was still awake after that whilst a small but trouserless person snuggled up aainst my back! So, it's cereals and at least 3 cups of tea and a read on here now
Today the house needs tackling big time. Everywhere has been sadly neglected all week so Mr TM can take the boys into town (and do some jobs for ME for a change) and I'll get on here. Watch out .... I shall be armed with my stardrops and microfibre cloths :rotfl:
I have someone coming to replace a balcony fence today (weather permitting) so at least I can rest assured that if the boys do get out there, they aren't going to fall 10 feet onto the patio. And the house alarm needed repairing this week too - so it's been an expensive week all round.
Ok ((((hugs)))) all round and have a great day.
TM xxx
I shall put the BM on later - may even make a fancy loaf or some cake as well as an ordinary loaf. WM will get a good using today and probably the TD. It's too dark to see what the weather's going tobe like yet.0 -
Queenie :grouphug: it was just that, a wibble. Today's another day and YOU CAN DO IT. Good luck <hug>.
I've never heard of a tied blanket, hmm, is this something I need to know about? :rotfl:
