Just wanted to say Congratulations to Michelle and hubby and :hello: to Little Mr Michelle.
Can't stop - printer is working overtime getting everything ready for the business launch, but I promise I'm trying to keep up with OS living. Certainly no ready meals, but the upstairs needs a darn good vac:D

One of the very best kind of Open Evenings, ever
All the Yr 7's had a table displaying their HM foods from around the World, there was a Cocktail Bar (non alcoholic) a Tapas Bar  an Auction, a raffle, the school band played throughout and a Spanish Dancing display as well
D12yo's Food Tech Teacher is also D11yo's Form Tutor and I had (mistakenly) thought that tonight's appointment was for booking with the Year Head so hadn't actually booked to see his FT.
I waited for a quiet time to introduce myself (cue Vinegar Cake) and the poor woman looked positively   (Strange woman, thought I!
) Turns out, she had repeatedly asked d11yo last week why he hadn't brought the return slip in from me and he had replied: "My mum's ill and couldn't sign the form" (last week I had the fluey virus thingy) Now obviously, I'd have to be moribund to not be able to hold a pen and sign my name ... so the poor woman nearly keeled over with my healthy, energetic handshaking "Hello
I'm D11yo's mum" :rotfl:
Did mean that the cake was well received with lots of cheery banter and she is quite happy to learn a new recipe and much happier knowing that d11yo and d12yo haven't resorted to eating meals predominantly made from vinegar due to their mother being at deaths door! And I was equally relieved to meet someone who wasn't quite the ogre she'd been painted
Ah, all's well that ends well
And now I'm fair whacked! I've eaten my way around the world tonight sampling all sorts of delights - even a most gorgeous South African dessert, which the 'mum' is going to email me the recipe for  (How kind is that!)
I will say one thing though, those balls are now a firm family favourite, quickest, easiest, cheapest type of doughnut I've come across; no doubt you'll see them popping up in my posts from time to time from here on in
Right, Mr Norrell is calling, so it must be time for bed ... going chestnutting tomorrow, so fingers X'd it's dry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Aril, recipe Puleese, I was only thinking about the possibilities of making some the other day, but don't seem to be able to find a recipe.
