Afternoon All,
well I hobbled off to the podatrist, who took one look at my rather odd-looking manky toe-nail ,and said quite airily 'No problem I'll take it off next Wednesday' he actually flicked it with his finger and went 'Mmm yes, it's time for that to go'  cheeky young whelp
So next week I shall be bandaged up and hobbling even more .It's not even on my bad right-hand side it's the one on my left hand side , so that means no driving for at least a week (He said) & (I thought ,no chance ) and I must keep my leg raised for at least three days . Last time I sat down for that long was when I gave birth, nearly forty years ago. So being a tough little old cookie there is little chance of me doing that either. I hate been housebound at the best of times, and I just don't have time to be sitting around with me leg in the air:eek: far too busy, I have my sis-in-law arriving on saturday for a week and it's half-term as well, so there will be grandchildren to amuse .Hope everyone is having a good day today, it's that drizzly wet soft rain at the moment which seems to make everything damp in Kent .I still haven't put the heating on yet though, far too mild. have a good one chums I'm off to have some lunch:j0 -
 typed up a long(ish) post at 9 o'clock, but lost it
and haven't had chance to type it all out again.
What was it with fish pie last night? We had it too (yummy if I do say so myself) and it overflowed all over the oven. Luckily I have a solid shelf at the bottom that comes out, so that's currently soaking in cheapie bio washing powder & hot water.
So far today, I've done a few bits of ironing, changed the bed & loaded/unloaded DW. No food plans for today, cos we're off into Manchester after work, so will eat there (Wagamamas if I get my way).
Anyway, hugs to all those with pesky kittens, kids, teachers, nits, drunken OHs and the like to contend with.

Hi everyone!
I seem to be having a very difficult week at the moment...one very stressful event after another so won't post my woes but hugs to all who need them.
Have posted on the chicken soup soul thread today instead some words I found in one of my files this morning which seemed to me very pertinent at the moment. Hope you enjoy them!

PS My friend's just brought me through a drink made from acorn coffee that she made at the weekend...it's delicious. Every cloud has a silver lining....Aiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
Afternoon Everyone
I'm back online thank god.
Finished work for the week now so i need to get stuck in but somehow I only made it to the couch when I got in.
I need to get up and do some tidying up and then make a spag bol for tea. Also need to use up a couple of bananas so either muffin or banana bread.
Tonight its that time of the month again where the budget needs to be sorted out a strong word is needed with DH as his spending is getting out of control again.
Good luck to Michelle
Have a good afternoon everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Afternoon all
(((Aril))), hope your week gets better.
Well, I'm running around a lot at the mo'. Had about 3 hours sleep Mon night coz of work and I'm currently typing from an Internet cafe in Derry, Norther Ireland. My first trip here, but only a day for work and I have to spend the afternoon in an internet cafe getting on with things. But of course, the most important thing to do is first log-on to OS thread
No OS to mention as I'm away with work. Joining a new group for my Uni course Thursday evening so a bit nervous. Still meaning to get more organised with packed lunches for work etc..... but not happened yet.
Keep my fingers crossed for Michelle!

Let us know how the teacher reacts to the vinegar cake - she is likely to react in a fairly sour fashion if you know what I mean!;)
Need to wrap up presents for DDs 21st birthdays tomorrow and have a home made pizza in the oven.
Still coughing and sneezing so have a hot lemon drink as i type.

Afternoon :hello:
Have spent a large part of today ranting at solicitors, in the nicest possible way (after all, it's hardly my solicitor's fault that I'm buying from a party whose solicitor sits on paperwork for weeks and won't return people's calls  )
I *think* I might have mentioned this before but I JUST WANT TO MOVE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!
There, I feel better now
I notice a lot of people have been saying things like "keeping fingers crossed for Michelle". Well all I can say to that is, as long as *she* doesn't keep too many things crossed, she should be in businessI've got her mobile number actually - d'you think I should text her?
I was quite efficient last night, I went to a concert and didn't get home till midnight but still managed to get a couple of boxes packed before bed.
Making a fish pie tonight, so hoping I break the fish pie jinx that seems to have descended on Old Style lately!!!
See you later
