  • Morning all! Hope Michelle is OK, looking forward to hearing the news.

Just been on the supermarket run, spent a bit more than I intended to :o but did get a couple of extra bits for stockings and some dried fruit etc for mincemeat and Christmas pud.

Got most of the house vaguely dusted and hoovered yesterday so today is mine to play with. Probably going to the shops later to buy some more muffin cases and cake baking stuff as I seem to have run out, then want to make a start on the mincemeat (Delia's recipe, which needs soaking overnight I think although I haven't checked).

    Breakfast: Cereal
    Lunch: HM soup and roll
Dinner: Sausage and mash with onion gravy, yummmmm

    Love
    FF xx

  • Morning everyone - hope everyone is well?

Am out of the office today so have just done over 2 hours of driving. Still don't feel 100% - just can't seem to shake this cold thing off, I feel absolutely exhausted.

Anyhoo, the kitchen is still being painted and in chacos (sp?) but I managed to cook something for dinner last night and stick a load of washing in the WM, before nodding off in front of Supernanny.

    Breakfast - Cereal
Lunch - Ham & Cheese Wraps
Dinner - Pasta Bake & Salad

Have a good day everyone xx
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!

D11yo has just phoned me from school ...

"Hi Mum, you know you're doing 2 batch of BDC and 2 of of the BL; well, I'd like you to start the BDC's at half past one please, so they are still warm for this evening. Thanx, bye."

    :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Morning all!

Can't stop, just logged on to see if Michelle has "delivered" !!!

Thriftlady, you're not to worry about my PM today, you're too busy, and I won't be around to act on it tomorrow, got the Devon run to my Dad. Anytime after that will be fine. Thanks!!

    Hello

Been a busy day here. XDIL arrived around 11am and after lunch I went up to the house to help DH. Arrrived home around 5pm. Done quite a lot up there, cleaned up upstairs and yard of all the building rubbish and took it to the dump. I am off to pick the tiles tomorrow as DH needs them next week. XDIL can care for DGS while I decide which ones. I will then drop her off to the train station as she leaves tomorrow arv.

I really put the cards on the table and had a frank talk with her, like I usually do. :D She was none too pleased  but she'll survive. She doesn't know yet but I haven't finished. Part 2 is tomorrow morning. :rotfl:

It's the last episode of House tonight. I haven't got it wrong this time. Starts in 15 mins so will go and have a wee surf and get cosy on the couch. Hope you all have a lovely day and hope Michelle is having a knee's up. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good Morning All!!!

Still no news from Michelle, drove like the clappers this morning to reach my PC and find out!!! (Didn't get on until now as forgot 10am meeting :o ). Thinking of them.

We all slept rather late this morning, DD has had a cold for about 3-4 weeks now and a rotten cough too which just won't shift. Shes very stoic so doesn't complain but I am getting worried particularly as I cannot wake her in the morning. Think I may have to get her to the docs just to check there is no infection although she hasn't seemed feverish. I hate going to the doctors. Do they teach them that air of "you're wasting my time, why are you here you stupid woman" at medical school? Yesterday she told me she had started to cry at school because "she has a cold and you weren't there mummy" poor little love, I hate not being there to give her a cuddle when she needs one (or a "tuddle" and a "tiss" as she calls it, she can't pronounce the letter C).

Right better get on to OS!!! Not much OS this morning although I was very glad I had de-frosted and sliced sandwich rolls the night before so could do packed lunch in 5 minutes. Have a big wash will need putting on when I get home, need to prepare shepherds pie and pop in the oven before 5 and then have to take DS to footie until 6. Other than the usual work, cooking and cleaning not a lot of OS going on in the MimiF household.

    Have a lovely day all.

  • Sorry, still no news from Michelle!

I'm off out of the office for a few hours; she'll likely have posted herself once I'm back.
    If so,
    Michelle, Big Congrats!

    Hey guys,

Today is going to be a busy day! I can feel it in my bones.

mrsmortenharket Your kitten doesn't need 'fixed' until she's 6 months old but it does mean you shouldn't let her outside. Ad for vaccinations I have a feeling it's any time about now.

snowy owl I don't envy you, I hate carpet shopping and hope to never experience it again.

penny watcher your poor ankles! I'm very practiced at falling over so you have all my sympathy.

thriftlady you made me laugh with the nits! It's a pity children aren't more like cats, we discovered the other day the cats had fleas so we stuck some chemical on their neck and slapped collars on them. I suppose you'd be jailed for doing that to children ;D

Got tons of lemon curd to make tonight. Then might brave doing another Christmas cake. Although I usually drink more sherry than I bake with, perhaps it's a weekend job after all.
My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

  • Hello all

Had an early start today, got woken up by drunk OH at 1.30am climbing into bed whilst muttering about how he hates me. Nice! Amazingly, I went back to sleep and woke again at 3.30am when he was unconscious and all of a sudden I was wide awake. Since then, he's told me that he also hates our Saluki dog because he's a bully. If he hates us all so much, I don't understand why he doesn't just push off somewhere he won't have to put up with us, but then I guess I couldn't get that lucky.

Had a cuppa at 3.30am and did the cash flow and some meal planning on the PC, then got the BM going and made some stewed fruit (plum, apple & kiwi) for a crumble at the weekend. Had another cuppa and did some more knitting (I'm making a woolly pully for my OAP Greyhound who is feeling the lack of central heating). Not far to go before its finished, now. :D DS emerged at 6.30am and we got on with making breakfast, packed lunch and bath.

Since then, I've made some birthday party invitations for DS's 8th birthday, done a bit more knitting, got the WM on and had lunch. Next on the list are some h/m jam tarts (to go in the freezer for lunchbox ammunition) and wash up prior to putting the dough on for tonight's pizzas. DS and OH are having Pepperoni, I'm having Mushroom & Spinach. Yum. :) Oh yes, and I must venture out into the monsoon that's going on outside, to make sure the Guinea Pig hasn't floated away and to find a stout bamboo to cut to fit across the two bedroom door frames, so that I can suspend some wet washing across the upstairs landing! Necessity being the mother of invention, and all that. ;)

Well, it won't get done by sitting here chatting with you lot - so off I go! Hope all you germy people feel lots better soon. Hugs to those who are cold or sad .... and of course I'll keep an eye open for news of Michelle.
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
