    Ouch x

Shares to pay off debts sounds like a good idea to me as I'm sure you are paying more interest on them than you are making on the shares.

Hope you have enough to do all you want to without losing out. x

    Hi Newleaf,

I was looking at your SOA and you have £70,000 worth of shares and bonds, which shows really good financial management, and forward planning.

I think using a chunk of it to pay off interest bearing credit cards and loans, makes great sense, in fact I would be inclined to pay off the whole lot and declare myself debt free, which, apart from your mortgages, is the reality of your situation.

We cleared all our cards with savings, much of which had been built up through redundancy payments and stock options and it felt tremendously liberating, although we were loathe to do it at the time, and it really simplified things.

Our challenge now is to remain in budget, build our savings back up and avoid running up any debt in future  .

Am laughing. How can a pot of that even have 350 calories in it?!

Hi RB, not all of the £70k is able to be accessed (some is licked in and can't be sold for 2 more years). I will cash in what I can to pay off what I can, I think you have given me some good advice

Are you that hungry you are licking your shares!

13 weeks to Christmas. Am hoping to loose 3lb a week to make just under 3 stones so am happy to help you lick them, it could help us both!
