the movie was very nice and in Leicester Sq which made it feel more special some how.

Today I have the hen day of an aquaintance. I should have begged off but she only got 2 other RSVP's so I felt like I should go. She had asked me to arrange it, then didn't like what I arranged, so planned everything herself in the end.

    Will report back later x

    Hello Newleaf :)

I have a mate who lives in Kings Cross, who could have written your comments about damage to his car. :( After much frustration he found a solution while visiting friends of his in South Woodford; they have neighbours who are an elderly couple without a car, but they do have a drive. He now rents the drive, and goes on the tube to collect his car when he needs to travel out of London. Would that idea work for you? If you don't know anyone in the suburbs who could suggest / introduce you to a neighbour in a similar position, you could perhaps put up 'wanted' cards in post offices / local shops in likely areas? My mate reckons the rental cost is much cheaper than what he was spending on getting the frequent damage fixed, and apparently the old folk are delighted with the extra income.

I hope you have fun on your friend's hen night tonight - oh, and well done on being such a valued co-worker! :D

Robin, that is a great idea. I will have a trundle around to put some notes through doors.

Hen-do day yesterday: a day at SPA London which is all steam rooms and saunas and a plunge pool. Very interesting but I think 5 hours was a bit long.

went for a walk after and then dinner at a nice restaurant. which came in at £34 a person. (which included us all paying a share of the bride to be's meal.

Arrived home to find a letter from Nat W*** telling me that they are raising my interest rate from 15% to 20% on my cc. I have no idea why so will ring them Monday.

Today, eating stuff from home, helping friend with business so will earn £30, changing bedsheets, laundry etc, and maybe entering some comps after my trundle around the neighbourhood.

Glad you had a good day yesterday, even if 5 hours of relaxing was too much for you :rotfl:

You can decline the new rate and ask them to close your account. You clear the balance monthly as before at the rate you took that credit out on. Obviously that means you can't use the card, but why would you want to at that rate

Happy Monday! It is a wet and wild one down here.

I have given this a lot of thought yesterday, and I am going to cash in some of my stock to pay off 2 of the cards. Stock hasn't been doing much for ages and I buy it out of my pay packet at a discount. The initial idea when I set it up years ago was that it would be "for a rainy day" and it isn't pouring but drizzling. Therefore I wont cash it all in, just some. If I do it today or tomorrow the funds can be in my account by the end of the week.

If anyone wants to weigh in on if this is a good or bad idea, feel free. x

I'd swap stocks for clearing the cards.

Is the one proposing to up the interest charge in there?

yes the one proposing the rate hike is in there and one other one.

I will get a small bonus this year but the family bathroom is falling apart. I will fix it all as cheaply as possible and try to have some money left over to pay off more of my debt.
