I also decided last night to sell my David Yurman jewellery. All but one bracelet. That combined with the stock sale I did from the US (which should hit my account next week) will kill of the majority of the tax. It was a gift from my late grandmother so I feel the need to keep one piece

Ooh NL thats a very big decision to make. Im sorry you feel that you need to do this to get THEM off your back.
David Yurman jewellery is beautiful, if I win the lottery tonight I will pay your tax and you can keep the beautiful jewellery .

I wish for the umpteenth time I had a magic wand x

me too. Just to cheer us all up... the following is an email from Miss Malaprop

Theybrought multiple items in but the one thing I fell in love with was thisblouse! OMG – it fit beautifully…UNTIL I saw the price tag of$695.00 – what the heck. I guess it was from a little designer inItaly named Marc Jacobs

So needlessto say they bring in some shoes that feel GREAT and I find a jacket that fitsalso. Shoes $325.00 which is steep but since the jacket was only$118.00 I thought I would splurge.

OK 1. why is anyone spending that kind of money and 2. marc Jacobs is American.

Sorry to hear you are having to sell the jewellery but I'm fairly sure your Granny would want to ease your stress in any way she could and if this is the way she'd approve.

  • NL I think I msut have missed you post where you mentioned your electricity costs.

Not sure how relevant it is, but we pay £250 per month , therefore £3000 exactly per year on our dual fuel . I am not sure what portion of that is electricity only but I can try and find out if its any help.

As you know working from home also x

Granny, I agree with you totally re the jewellery .

One bed flat, but there's still quite a difference between your £1,020 pa, and my £180 pa.

Do you live in a castle? :p
