I wonder when Tesco will put a stop to this. Maybe they'll put a limit of the amount of R&Rs you can make or put a clause in saying specifically looking for R&Rs not allowed?

how can they prove that you specifically went looking for r+r's?

yes going in and buying a trolley full of meat, WKD, peanuts, cadburys heros, celebrations and an xbox and GOTW I think they have a right to suspect something but and maybe buying just a pack of r+r meat but in the case of buying an xbox it isnt really an item you would buy as part of your weekly shop so buying just the console and a game isnt unusual.

The other way is for each store to make records of every r+r name address ect then they can cross check to see repeat r+rer's as long as they are for each stores own use they can do that without breaching the DPA I assume that is how Kevin Kelly and co have been able to take action against taxiphil the data wasnt passed to them from other stores all the info they had was provided by taxiphil they may have only asked for his details twice but they saw them crop up twice so had reason to think he was a serial r+rer. I would also expect that there hant been that many people called Phil/Phillip phoning up having been over charged on an xbox or 4 they just put 2 and 2 together and worked it out. "Live by the sword. Die by the sword" I think.

Maybe you could start the asda misprices thread?

The way they have banned him was somthing I dont think anyone expected maybe going for all those free consoles wasnt that good an idea after the loss of all the points ohh and the store ban. I assume they belive they were all gained by buying r+r's so they had been refunded and note removed they just removed them all in 1 go.

I can put you in touch with some good travel agencies if you want?

As for stopping the policy who knows I think it is more likley now after the consoles but it is descused every week or 2 on here and always rubished down, who knows.

    Question:

If I need to get a refund on my DS which I'm waiting on Head Office for, do you think I could get away with using it and having a go, then giving it back in its original packaging?! If anyone's seen them they havn't got a seal on them, so if I'm careful.....what do you all think?

Why look for an r&r if you dont want the item - if its just to make money then I'm fairly sure if your caught its fraud.

Personally I dont agree with doing this :(

Then you're on the wrong thread.

The point we are making is that Tesco break the law EVERY single day and R&R is their way of avoiding prosecution. If they don't like it they could scrap R&R tomorrow and just pay the fines every day instead - then see how long it was before the politicians decided to kick some !!!!.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.

Whatever your reasons or circumstances, the net result is the same. You're almost implying that it's ok to seek GOODS by using this method, but not to seek WEALTH. In many people's eyes wealth and the accumulation of material possessions are very similar things.

But of course we all know, money can't buy happiness. Sermon over :)

Point taken - hands well & truely slapped

I realise tesco over charge & that r&r is their escape route so to speak. Do TS go around checking tescos prices or do they just go in when alerted?
  • Guys, please don't forget to also put your misprices on this site, as it's very quick and simple to both read and use - just click add at the bottom and it's fairly simple. http://www.cpjackson.co.uk/cgi-bin/m...rby=&startat=0

I overheard a member of CS staff on the electrical counter actually telling someone that its better to buy expensive electricals seperately as your receipt is your guarentee and you are more likely to chuck out a massive shopping reciept.
So buying an Xbox and GOTW on its own shouldnt raise too many questions from staff.
With the other stuff like meat etc it can look a bit blatent if you just go to the checkout with 6 rib roast joints or 12 trays of sirloin (or a trolley load of Noddy annuals for that matter)
When I got R&Rd on two Rib roasts the other day the CS lady said it was very sharp of me to notice the difference in price per kilo, I spun her a great yarn telling her I was a chef and I have to work out portion costs etc.. She was quite impressed! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I saw a label for the Mingles 2 for £5 next to one saying 2 for £6. Bought 2 boxes went to CS. He went to look came back and said 2 for £6. Went to show him and just one label 2 for £6. Well annoyed. Got a refund.

Always, always, always go with them to 'help' them find the label/sel that you have seen.

You live and learn. ALWAYS go with them and NEVER ask if it's ok as most will say no! Just follow them like a little lamb... :D
