But lets not get into using human rights laws to fight tesco with.
There are people all over the world having their human rights violated in the worst possible way. It makes a sham of the whole concept of those rights if people start using them to do some shopping in tesco.
There are far better ways of sorting this out.
If you reckon, personally I think of human rights as that. This guy has had nearly £2000 taken from him by Tesco. They did it without him commiting a crime. My point is that even if there is something in UK law which states they can do it, there is something in the human rights act which states they can not.
I agree totally with human rights violations the world over is the worst possible way. You would be a fool however if you thought that human rights violations were only worth standing up for once someone was pulling your finger nails off or branding the words "CHRISTIAN" on your forehead. By that time I am affraid, it is too late to say "hang about, I have rights!"0 -
puddings wrote:"because of their bulk purchase policy, they would refund two packets " I queried this bulk purchase policy and he pointed to a printed notice stuck to the board beneath the "If things dont add up" sign.
the notice read
"BULK PURCHASE POLICY
In the interests of all customers, some products are limited to 2 items per customer."
Hi pudding, I was in Leyland extra today and noticed the sign. However at the other customer service desk by electricals there isn't one and there don't appear to be any at the checkouts.
The fact that they sold you over 2 items means they broke their own rules and should be reprimanded, not you.
I'm not sure that it's worth raising profile over in this instance, but I'd certainly question why their staff don't abide by their own policy.0 -

I agree totally, and am an active campaigner.
What I'm saying is, the human rights laws are a last resort. People using them over soemthing as trivial as being banned from tesco are trivilaising the very law they want to protect them.
There are far better placed laws to fight this with.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -

Totally agree with this.

Tesco have at least three people working overtime on a problem with cosoles that began 4 weeks ago at least. Since then they have repeatedly put up misleading posters on a weekly basis each offering discount, why do you think they do that? It's a sales technique, everyone loves a bargain, a discount, something for nothing. They are exploiting shoppers into believing something is cheaper than it actually is...
Totally agree!
The fact is, if you shop around you can get this deal cheaper elsewhere even if the discount DOES come off so its a moot point, if you shop at tescos your ARE being overcharged for stuff!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
The thing is, whatever you think of how much people buy, Tesco have a policy of R&R, they created it and I really don't see how legally they can remove clubcard points from his wife..............their policy, we don't do any wrong by choosing to buy the overpriced products and getting a refund.....they started it ;-)0

He can ask for relevant information to be removed (such as purchase history), however, he won't be able to get his personal details removed, as Tesco has banned him from all stores and will be able to argue that his personal details (name, address, etc), are required in order to enforce the ban.
Yes that is the point I was trying to make, they are using the data to enforce a ban and that is an abuse as he has not done anything illegal. By the way Tesco Finance could keep the information as they are a bank and have a different set of rules ie fraud protection etc.0 -
Can anyone confirm that the xbox and godfather discount is not coming off still?
Thanks Adam0 -
