Tesco are fighting back, every man and his dog is starting to get in on the r&r game and Tesco are starting to flex their muscles to discourage Joe Public, banning people will obviously have an impact on discouraging others.
  • Rather than banning people why dont they just sort out their pricing problems !!!!!! its not difficult
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now
  • Bad news travels faster than good!

EG: Taxiphil gets banned = Taxiphil + 5 others not using Tesco
each of the 5 influence another 2 not to use and so on.

So for every one they ban, think of the total loss of shoppers - R&R'ers or not!
Then there would be the certain bad publicity, this too will result in loss of revenue. Tesco may well be getting harder on the R&R'ers, but from the posts on here all I can remember are the ones where people have been insulted, threatened, intimidated etc, I can't remember many about good customer service.
It's a basic customer service point, good news travels fast, bad news faster!
All Tesco need to do, is stop overcharging the millions of customers that they do, be nice to the customers who spot the errors, and everyone will be happy.
I very rarely used Tesco, until I became confident enough to approach CS about the overcharging, now they have my monthly shopping budget!
If I ever feel like I am being threatened, I'll just take my custom elsewhere, and make sure my family don't frequent the store, and any of my friends.
Then instead of me feeling poo that I can't R&R anymore, I'll be thinking about the small dip in Tesco's profits from tthe lack of a great monthly spend by all I know!
    Sig ah Sig Ahhh
  • well, I do think taking away the points and voiding the codes is extreme but then you did get an awful lot of stuff from them which could indeed be said to excessive....

I see your point. I dont think Taxiphil saying "I got £3500 worth of free stuff" and then they banned me is going to stop me using the company (Tho I prefer sainsburys).
I agree, they should sort prices, but in reality it was small until the consoles etc.
Tesco made £2 billion last year. I think they can cope with losing a few customers to save themselves from people like Taxiphil.
We can all talk about principles.. but its probably "the principle" that made Tesco ban Taxiphil.. irregardless of whether that leads to losing other customers.
    Be nice
  • Just a quick heads up..

Segsations, heroes, quality street etc have a 2 for £10 offer (these are the bigger jars)

I noticed they all have the yellow SELs apart from the Segsations (but these are included on the offer POS) which has a white SEL

Got my hopes up thinking it would go through without the discount due to the white SEL but unfortunately the discount DOES come off.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

The CS woman sulked and tannoyed the manager. When he arrived he told me that "because of their bulk purchase policy, they would refund two packets in full and refund only the difference on the third" I queried this bulk purchase policy and he pointed to a printed notice stuck to the board beneath the "If things dont add up" sign.

    the notice read
    "BULK PURCHASE POLICY
In the interests of all customers, some products are limited to 2 items per customer."

The manager left the desk and I asked the CS woman, if that meant that I'm not allowed to buy three packets of crisps anymore? She said "No it only means refunds". "So you'll sell three items at the higher price, but you won't refund them" I asked sarcastically, to which she replied "yes, but you'll be refunded the difference on the others" ! Surely it should not be a bulk purchase policy, but instead a bulk REFUND policy???...

Been away for a couple of days and only just catching up on all the recent posts .... phew!

Anyway, just thought I'd mention that a store near me has a bulk purchase policy of 6, but then has a sign beneath their "If things don't add up" sign to say that the bulk refund/overcharge policy is one item!!!

I've never tested this so I don't know if it's actually enforced.

Appalling, I'd report them to HO for "clarification".

  • Has any one got a picture of the a4 console offer showing the wording & the games of the week?
  • Tried Leyland & Chorley, posters up on consoles but prices have been stickered over.
