Taxiphil that is terrible i really feel for you, think its a little extreem to be banned for life! thoughts are with you!0

Many thanks everyone, I really appreciate it. I'm pretty sure this latest act of thuggery is going to backfire on them, big time.0

kerrr ching...above posters thank you, i understand the "meat" thing now
what had confused me was that i had thought..even if the individual item was showing higher £/kg than the SEL £/kg then the SEL £/kg may still scan at the checkout!!
this is obviously not the case on individually weighed/priced items being sold per/kg? they will go through the till at the individual item price?
btw, i dont intend going out looking for basket fulls, but if i spot one now and again, i will take up the offer
i would however go out of my way for a Xbox (only 1) but looks like i missed that one.
i still dont fully undertand how that worked, but tonight in my local i saw a £297.97 Xbox and Gangster as the GOTW on a little chart card, no offer linked the two as a bundle though and i could'nt see the fabled "poster" anywhere. are you guys saying if the poster had been up, they WOULD NOT have applied the discount and i would have hit the jackpot?
thanks to you all, thanks alot Constantine (love the film;) )0 -

It came as a far greater shock, however, to see they have deleted my partner’s entire Clubcard balance of 9,000 points. This is theft, plain and simple. We acquired every last one of these points in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme.
Well as has been noted previously, they can ban you without having to give a reason, but saysing your gathering evidence of crimes being committed. If you try that line with Tesco I wouldn't be surprised if they tell you to get a warrent before they will agree.
I know this will be of little help, but mentioning that you followed the T&Cs to them will mean nothing, as its in there that they can at any time withdraw the card and points.
I will agree though that its going a bit too far for them to void any codes that you already haveTitch0 -
i would think that it would be pretty difficult to enforce a national ban...just don't go back to the store you did over...and use cash instead of credit/debit cards?
sorry to here about the loss of points though mate...they're certainly pulling their socks up0 -

... if they have "reasonable grounds" (according to the T&Cs). I doubt that "reasonable grounds" include me catching them in the act of overcharging me on loads of occasions.dr_shabzzz wrote:i would think that it would be pretty difficult to enforce a national ban...just don't go back to the store you did over...and use cash instead of credit/debit cards?
The trouble is that I did over loads of their stores (well into double figures). Actually, let me rephrase that. Loads of their stores did me over by overcharging me!0 -
It is indeed a shame about the clubcard points, seeing that you had big plans for them.
But you have done well out of them, something like 10 consoles was it?
Can't you start shopping at another supermarket now though? Is it really that big a loss?
PM me with your plan of action .... (i've been banned from one store, and I envisage that becoming national if they forward their "evidence" to their head office as promised)0 -
Not quite 10, but not far off! When you chuck in the mobiles and digicams it was something like 3 and a half grands worth of stuff. Good game, good game.
But nicking our Clubcard points is well out of order as I can't see how it's really connected with the R+Rs. I wouldn't have minded if they'd taken back the ones for the R+R items, of course they'd be well within their rights to do that, but I got loads of them from things like Tesco insurance policies, and buying all my petrol there (enough to fill a bloody swimming pool), and I'm angry they've taken them off me too.
And I'm mortified at the thought of having to get all my grub from Morrisons! That's the ultimate punishment....0 -
Taxiphil - I'm really sorry to hear about this. Being banned from stores is bad, but probably they'll forget within a few weeks, but removing your Clubcard points is hitting below the belt.
At the very least I would report each overcharge to TS, making the point that Tesco is serially breaking the law even though they know that they are.
The lesson for the rest of us is to use cash and don't try for Clubcard points when getting big R&Rs, and if they insist on name and address details before refunding give them a false one. I know some people will disagree about false address but given the behaviour of Tesco I don't see why I should give them my real details. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote:I thanked you because I appreciated the straight answer, especially considering the conflicting information given out by CS on the issue. If posters on here are to be believed, Kevin Kelly/Joanne Leith today rejected two console refunds on the basis that the posters were out of date. Toady, however, had his refund verified by CS over the out of date poster for the Vodafone/Virgin offer.
I think this was more to do with the wording on the poster, ie 2 offers 1 with an astrisk, and *offer (not offers) end 17th sept. Man at HO said he understood the confusion over this and the legal dept were looking into it.0
