Searched 6 stores tonight, no posters up !, looks like they have decided to play it safe?

Most of the posters that have neen spotted seem to be from the north (strange)

Interesting that - I will pre warn my parents down south on visit not to expect anything. My Local that I did last week didn't display the new poster today (shame :D ), still I enjoy the hunt and the chase

HO expect a call tomorrow :p
  • Regardless of what it says on the poster I think there have been a hell of alot of Consoles which have been refunded this week with the help from HO. I think I have seen 2 in the last week where they have refused and they have both been today. (Friday!!) and one of those was because of a duplicate Mobile Number? 99% sure you will get your Money back, just hope they have left the poster up!! As MUNT says its a bundle so you have to buy both
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

omg, now i feel really stupid because i still dont get it :(

so if the SEL says 8.0kg for say £9.99..a 9kg would automatically be priced accordingly, therefoe more say £10.99?

but if the SEL said 8kg how do you get away with saying 9kg is overpriced?

i feel really dumb, i thought i was intelligent but this thread has me beaten :(

No SEL but I do have a handy pack of Chicken Thighs ;)

My Thighs (or at least the ex-chickens) are marked as £2.68 per kg. The pack weighs 1.038kg. Which gives a retail price for the pack of £2.78.

The SEL will give a price of £2.68/kg as each pack will be a different price. Therefore no missprice.

However...say my Thighs go down in price on Monday to £2.58 per kg. New stock coming in will be at the new price...but any old stock not yet sold through would need to be down priced to reflect the new per kg price. This is the process which is often missed, or even if it is done is not done correctly (stock left in the back up chiller, for example). So the SEL will indicate a price of £2.58/kg, but some stock may be on the shelf at the old price of £2.68 - an overcharge.

Because each pack has its own price (based on its weight), they are not updated when the system price changes (as would happen on that can of beans from earlier).

Think thats about the most basic I can do without using crayons :D
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • I tried a store tonight for the xbox 360 and godfather. Got the Premium pack, discount didn't come off, same as usual. CS lady was only going to give me the difference and kept trying to tell me that i shouldn't get anything at all because the SEL's were the right price.
She didn't seem to grasp the fact that the promotion was on the poster and that that was the advertised price, just kept harping on about the fact that the SEL's showed the correct price.

Turned out they'd given me a core system anyway and when they phoned through to the backroom/warehouse they didn't actually have any premiums.
    Gutted!

Tried 3 other stores but they'd all taken the posters down.

This was down south as well.

Confirmed in 2 stores about 35 miles apart that the £20 discount applied for the Xbox360 Preium (£279.97) and Godfather Game as the "Game of the week" (£39.97) does not work. Fill your boots quick! :D

i popped to my local tonight, i didnt even know they sold xboxes, its a pretty small store.

they had one at £297.97 and on a little errr, like a chart list it said Godfather "game of the week". there was nothing however to say these two items were linked in any way as a bundle...does that mean i have missed the fabled "poster" ?
  • There should be a big A3 poster advertising the game of the week as the godfather stating you save £20 if you buy an "xbox360 console and the game of the week"

If the SEL say £8 per kilo and the pack is priced at 9£ per kilo, you are being over charged £1 a kilo so should get a full RR.

i'd grab the heaviest pack(s) you can find !

No....you are looking at the wrong price......

It doesnt matter what the actual price of the package is......the thing you are looking for is a difference between the SEL per kg, and the product label per kg...

example...you see British beef Topside SEL £5.18 kg, but the packs of British beef Topside are marked up at £5.99kg...........they will go throuh the tills at their pack price of £5.99kg............so you have been overcharged, as the SEL says £5.18kg........ you can check this by watching them go through the till......they will go through at the unit price...ie the price on the pack, which has been calculated using the £5.99 kg....not the reduced £5.18kg.....so you have been overcharged...........
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Exactly right. I picked up a couple of packs of pork chops tonight. The SEL said something like £7.98 per kg. The price on the packs was worked out at £8.98 per kg (or thereabouts). This mean that I was overcharged, as the price per kg used to calculate the cost of the meat was higher than the price per kg indicated on the SEL. Due to this, I was charged a higher price than I should have been. Full refund.

Constantine, does this mean that it should be easier to find given that the staff always rotate the stock, IE the new stock has a longer date so would want the older stock with shorter date at the front ?
