ok, heres what i dont get:o just because the product is priced higher than the SEL, how do you know its not going to scan at the lower price?

Asda for example have tons of stuff with prices on, but sell at a lower price.

is the the good old self scan machines again?

surely people dont buy expensive food on the off chance of an R&R!!

    help?

    thank you.
You do know that Asda's policy is to give you a £2 gift card if you are undercharged? If you've been overcharged, they give you the difference back plus a £2 gift card. That's per item, by the way. So, if you've been undercharged on 10 items, you should get £20 on a gift card. :D

At one Tesco today I got Quality Street (they had left the '2 for £5' yellow SEL up amongst a sea of other '2 for £6' ones for all the other chocs). Don't know why I only picked up 2 boxes though, could have got more (no bulk-buy notices near me!).

Went to another (an Express that I had never been in before but thought, I bet I can find something wrong!). Found the Spontex wash-ups and SEL said 52p, I knew the 4 for 3 ones scan at 78p. Just for fun picked up 2, can always use these and it's all about the fun of the chase sometimes innit?

Manager lady was called, looked at my receipt and first of all she barked that I'd got both for 78p anyway ('so you got them even cheaper'). LOL!!! she couldn't even read a receipt! I pointed out it said 2 @ 78p, total £1.56.

It was such a small amount I almost laughed, but made a point of saying in front of the queue 'I always check my receipt in Tesco, you know they give you a full refund on overcharges'....then she handed me 52p!:rotfl:

'But this is Tesco, it's your policy to give a full refund', I stated, putting the offending coins firmly back in her hand. 'Not in here' she tried, and on it went for a couple of minutes, how amusing, over the princely sum of £1.56!

Of course she paid up. I'll be back...........:rotfl:
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

CS staff are trained not to mention the £2 gift card thing unless the customer specifically asks for it. You might come across one who doesn't know it applies to undercharges as well as overcharges. Also, they'll tell you it's not per item, but it is. All the relevant info is on the Asda website.

  • can a regular PM me please?
  • I got this one too today, but got all refunded after refusing the ten pound refund, then the game refunded. Was prepared to speak to manager but no need. 125.00 refunded cs lady a bit off with me but not too bad. See it through the poster states Game of the week, save 10 pounds when bought with any ds console. It doesnt actually state that the discount is off the game only. Good luck

    OK guys, complicated one.

Been to a Tesco near me in Scotland, saw posters for DS and Lego Star Wars 2 to save £10 off, which I bought and discount didnt come off.....

now the manager, seemed a nice lady took me into her office and asked me what has happened (!) so I explained that I thought I was entitled to a full refund on the game and console, as per the Tesco policy, however the manager only offered me a £10 refund and told me that there was a lot of "defrauding" going on, and how the Police are getting involved.

Any way I took both keeping them sealed, didn't take the £10.

What do you think I should do? Call HO tomorrow or/and go back and see him 2moro after she's seen her manager?

    cheers. an interesting night.

    good luck

Asda price promise (a bit mean if you ask me)

What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged or undercharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.

There are also risks involved, Chloe. Some people have been banned from stores. You need to keep this in mind. If you cannot afford the possibility of being banned from your local, and then involve yourself in a lengthy battle with Tesco, either make sure you keep a low profile or shop in stores which are not important to you.
