I would call the police and speak to the person who took your complaint - ask them if they can request the cctv footage from Tesco for the time you were in tonight.
This will show you didn't tamper with the poster may show the Manager ranting and raving - it will also really put the wind up them if the police go and request the tape.0 -

The CS woman sulked and tannoyed the manager. When he arrived he told me that "because of their bulk purchase policy, they would refund two packets in full and refund only the difference on the third" I queried this bulk purchase policy and he pointed to a printed notice stuck to the board beneath the "If things dont add up" sign.
the notice read
"BULK PURCHASE POLICY
In the interests of all customers, some products are limited to 2 items per customer."
The manager left the desk and I asked the CS woman, if that meant that I'm not allowed to buy three packets of crisps anymore? She said "No it only means refunds". "So you'll sell three items at the higher price, but you won't refund them" I asked sarcastically, to which she replied "yes, but you'll be refunded the difference on the others" ! Surely it should not be a bulk purchase policy, but instead a bulk REFUND policy???
After I agreed to a 2 from 3 refund, they then got a folder out titled "REFUND CUSTOMER TRACKING SHEETS", and wrote down my name and my visa card number (it doubles as my clubcard) as well at the refund value, barcode and reason.
Bear in mind that I was only querying 3 single steaks with a total value of about £15 not a major refund. It was a bit over the top don't you think. On top of that the CS woman said that they would refund the two £4 steaks and give me the difference on the £7 one. I started to kick up a fuss and she did eventually refund me £11.
Has anyone else seen a similar notice go up recently on the wall behind the desk in other stores or is it just Leyland taking matters into their own hands?
The one in Leyland has been there for over 6 months Chorley have one too, but that says "6". Don't know about Middlebrook.
Our of the three, Ive always found Leyland to be the most accommodating. Middlebrook is terrifying. It was there that a couple of weeks ago, some bloke accused me of impersonating a Trading Standards officer!!! I haven't been in since.0 -
Thanks for everyone, got a few lines of the Cosumer Protection Act memorised now
another daft newbie question, it is possible to refund a visa card isn't it? I just have it in my head that you might not be able to, but I don't know why! Fool
Off to try now!

twocoats wrote:Just had terrible experience in Kilmarnock store. Noticed £20 of Virgin & Vodafone handsets was still up. Bought a Motorola L6 and discount didn't come off. Pointed this out at CS and SA went back to shelf, removed the A$ poster and said she'd speak to her manager. She said "It's not your fault, you'll get your money back. This is out of date" I replied I was familiar with this policy as it happened a few weeks ago too with a book I'd bought.
Waited at desk for a few minutes and the next thing I know 3 or 4 staff were around me with the manager waving the A4 poster in my face saying "Where did you get this, this is not our point of sale" I replied "Excuse me" at which point he started a total rant and told the CS guy to call the police! He was saying "I'm fed up with this, we've had this in here before, I'm not giving you a refund, just call the police" He then proceeded to rip up the poster in front of my face stating "THERE!" I asked him exactly what he was accusing me of and if he thought I printed my own poster. He answered that he wasn't giving me any refund and that was that. I asked for his name which he gave but was very aggressive and attempting to be intimidating throughout. This at the front door of Tesco at 5.45 on a Friday evening, very embarrassing. I asked what he would like me to do now as he had stated that he was calling the police. He replied "Just go" He still had my reciept and top up voucher which I asked him to return and he had crunched them up in his hand in his anger! I then left the shop and I went to the police station to report his threatening and abusive manner and to keep myself in the right. Head Office closed by the time I got home so I'll be calling first thing tomorrow.
Is it better to do this in writing or over the phone?
Any help greatly appreciated.
2 Get your refund + compencation (for the stress he has caused you:D )
3 You will need your report from the police cause if they dont play ball with your demands it's all there in writing and on the cctv

You can ask to view the cctv I can't remember exactly but you fill in a request form and they have to make it available but this would need to done asap before they tape over it.0

I was just wondering .... If you've read the posts you'll know all about Jango and me running into brick walls at HO. Has anyone had any success with KK or JL today? Is it a complete u-turn or just a ploy to get their "averages" down?0

Sorry if off topic but still regarding Tesco's but will guide me to Tesco sites for the misprices
I knew somewhere on this thread that there is POS for tesco sites for the Tomtom - but is there any out for the Navman units?
Thanks0 -
what does gotw stand for????
Twocoats: Do you have legal expenses insurance with your home insurance policy?? If you do it should cover both personal injury and consumer disputes. Phone up the legal advice helpline, tell them you Tesco overcharged you for something in breach of the law, and when you complained they accused you of being a thief and threatened you with the police. They will be MORE than happy to help you out.
I had a friend who last year had a broken fridge from Curry's which they insisted she sort out under the warrenty. I told her to do this and the legal advice lawyers sent a letter and a phone call to Curry's, who immediately invited her instore to pick out her new fridge!!! Get free lawyers on your side - works a treat every time. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
