It seems to me (and I don't know Jack) that Tesco decde the opening hours they want to have in the store and it is rather up to them to ensure that they can get the thngs done that need to be done - like displaying acurate prices.
I didn't decide that they needed to be open 24 hrs a day in some stores - they did so I'm not inclined to be masively sympathetic with the diffiulties they have.
spa2k's not telling us and Google's no help at all.
So, for what it's worth, I'd imagine that non 24 hour stores have no defence. They have every opportunity to change prices before they open.
Not really sure about 24 hour ones as they must change labels while the store is open to the public. I'm sure spa2k is telling the truth ( and having a giggle at our feeble attempts to solve the puzle:D )but I'd guess that the reality might be slightly complicated. How would this relate to a 1000ft store and a 10000ft store? Equally how does it relate to the number of lines sold. A car showroom might have 10, a supermarket 1000. Doesn't help much I know but I suspect the answer will not be a simple time limit. So if I'm right it's probably not worth persuing any further.

The Tesco's misprice discussion thread appears to be not for most discussions
Yes...This is definately a discussion thread, but only for the discussion of misprices and the problems and consequences of such.....although when not busy the topics vary...but theyre usually quite placid.
This thread was getting clogged with ethical debate, and on a number of ocassions we were threatened with closure by the mods.....the result of which was the setting up of the Tesco Mispricing..ethics thread. The thread where i attempted to divert our argument to last night. Had we gone there, it might have saved a lot of unpleasantness.
People trying to stop us discussing items like this are actually trying to divert it to the ethics thread.

There is also another thread for discussing the ethics and morals of RandRers....this thread is called Tescos Deliberate R&Rers...Decent Consumer Champions or Opportunist Parasites.

To be honest its before the customer service desk opens and if they arent changed by that time then there are some serious issues. As far as i am aware there is no difference wether you stock 1 line or 1 million or if your sales space is a small market stall or a megamart.
Indeed 24 hour stores do change the labels whilst the store is open (i'm sure the night shoppers will have seen people doing so) and there is indeed a set time in the morning that the increases must be completed by.....Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

Ah, so I was getting warmer, well slightly tepid anyway..:cool2:
I presume the time is probably earlier than 'normal' stores and as I'm not getting up early unless the R&R is a Porsche, my input into this topic is now closed.
I thank you.;)0 -
When I worked for another supermarket chain we changed the increase prices first, when all the increase price tickets were up we then applied the increases on the stores computer. The decrease prices and offers were applied on the computer/till system before the decrease / offer tickets went up on the shelves. This way the customer was not charged more than the shelf ticket. Obviously with any store/chain there are mistakes made but only Tescos offer r&r.0

Had to reply before I log off.
This is such a simple solution and gives the customer the benefit all the way along the line. Nice one to whoever does it this way.0 -
Monster_Deals wrote:Visited a second store, thought I had struck gold in the lager section, 2 out of date SEL's one was for Carlsberg Export 330ml bottles in a 6 pack - £7.49 (I am sure that is an inflated price!) Buy one get one free.
Right first time! And yet ANOTHER reason why I have so little respect for Tesco! £7.49 for 6x 330ml Carlsberg Export???????? (Ricky Gervais voice) Are they 'aving a laugh??? Talk about putting the price up so that a BOGOF can be applied. Disgusting.I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -
MyUserNamesTaken wrote:I saw the Fosters today - didn't buy it, as it really is gnat's !!!!. Saw mispriced Finest British Beef Rump Steaks, too (£10.98 per kg on the new SEL, £11.98 per kg on the packs). Didn't bother with those, either. Did buy some Diet Coke 6 packs (1.25L bottles - expired BOGOF offer).
I have a sneaky feeling that the Gnat's !!!! will be wrong in a lot of stores, as the offer hasn't ended. Those too lazy to change labels on offers that have been extended will be in for a shock when they realise that although the Gnat's !!!! offer has been extended, it has also changed slighty (extra 30p added on the multibuy). So, instead of 2 for £6, it's now going through the tills at 2 for £6.30, resulting in an overcharge for those stores leaving up the 2 for £6 shelf barkers and SELs.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

i`ve finally sussed the combinations for the annuals to not trigger discount (buy all with "pedigree" on front) and have been happily doing r&r when i`m on my travels (i`m self-employed-diff area each day). When low and behold the Tescos in Walkden tried to only give me £4.97 back and not the full amount. Argued for a bit, then gave her back the £4.97 and said i`ll contact head office. SA said "thats our policy it won`t be changed you can even check with the manager and i`ve already done refund now anyway" . Just told her i wasn`t arsed and bid her good day. Went to My local Tescos on way home went in and got full r&r!!!! (orig sa didn`t get to write on receipt)When things in life start to weigh heavy on your shoulders, and people all around are having a go, just smile and think.......Fxxk em!0
