Legally, shops may have a timeframe within which they can display 'old' SELs, however Tesco's own policy makes no mention of this, hence an overcharge is an overcharge at any time.

Ooops sorry spa2k. I really didn't expect this to develop in the way it has. I was just trying to get a handle on when the best time was to catch the 'offers' instead of just calling in at random.

So if there is no SEL then we customers can call it as £0.00 so when we get to the tills if it does cost us anything then take it the R&R applys.

Is the R&R policy applicable in all stores?, my local one just gives you the difference in money back. If this is not the case, what do I do about it ? state the policy ?. Thanks.

HI DAZZIEDOO

All tesco should do the full r&r, they try and fob you off but once mention refund and retain they soon give you full refund

where is your local store? just curious as i saw your avitar and i come from felixstowe

Credit where credit's due...not all staff try to fob you off. I've come across a few who are only too happy to refund me.

Much to my surprise I've found a couple of them too - one last night and one this morning, different stores but both happy to refund £25-ish a time, and I never even had to ask. Is this part of the new Tesco R&R initiative we've been expecting?

After watching this thread and now being aware of R&R (Refund & Retain) I went shopping (unusual) with wife to Tesco.

The pound bin sell offs had "Buy one get one free" stickers but I noticed once we had paid for items they all went through as 3 for 2. Went to customer service desk to query it. They went off got ticket from bin and gave me full R&R.

Excellent!

Now if only I could find a legal, honest way to make a bigger dent in their half year one billion pound profit margin.......
