  • If Tesco is finally getting its act together re: overcharging on the consoles, then that's a good thing. I, for one, welcome Tesco's attempts to finally sort out the pricing/promotions problems for these particular items. It would be nice if Tesco paid a similar amount of attention to all the other misleading price indications and overcharging problems in its stores. In an ideal world, Tesco should be not overcharging at all. However, I can't see it lasting. It will be back to business as usual in no time at all.

Pablo, if the POS was still up, you should get a full refund, as the offer was still on display. As far as I can remember, the POS on the PSP/DS offer doesn't have an offer ends date. In which case, if the POS is still up, the customer is right to assume that the offer is still valid. Considering this was a well-known problem within the stores, I can't see how Tesco can claim it was a mistake. Normally, TS will let a mistake slip if it is rectified as soon as possible. However, in this case, the stores and HO are well aware of the problems they have been having for well over a month with the POS and promotions on the consoles.

Chatting to a CS lad this morning (when getting refunded on 2 playstation games) and he informed me that the Company had lost over £750,000 over the PSP and XBox mistake.

I reckon that would be an under-estimation, tbh. Don't fret too much about it, Sir Tery could fund the loss himself:

    Current directors:

Sir Terry Leahy, Chief Executive (48 years old)
    Appointed 1997
Salary: £955,000 (£2.9m including benefits and profit sharing)

    And that was in 2004!

So for the psp thingy why are you talking about the yellow stickers? what part do they play. Also If i bought the psp with tekken for example and they £10 discount didnt come off, Is this how i get my R+R. By saying the dicount didnt come off and i got overcharged . . . . thanks in advance
If people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help

    Good. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • My store has xbox 360 and just cause poster still up as of lunchtime, is this going to scan correctly now or not? Sorry to ask but there has been so much of this that I don't which are right or not now. It is for w/c 22 so presumably may be changed later today. psp is showing Tekken.

I thought this promo had been pulled?

    Thanks

ps great to have you all back

pps got r+r on Madagascar with the 2 for 25 or 13.97 each sticker. There were quite a few of these stickers but didn't chance more than one incase the multibuy discount kicked in. Also bought Bob the Builder Annual which scanned as 'book' and Dr Who which scanned as 'kids book' but the discount DID come off so the theory posted on the misprices thread doesn't always work. Hey ho, you can't win em all.

I'm amazed that all these highly paid bods in Tesco couldn't sort this out - ok so there's several type of consoles - but if the were having so much trouble - why didn't they just make sure every single game triggered the discount - most people would have bought the GOW anyway and if they didn't so it's an loss of £10/20 discount - darn sight better than refunding on all the consoles!

Exactley, the discount would be at the bottom of your receipt if it comes off.

No sels in my store so went to till and got it scanned there, if they say can't pay and go to CS desk..i wouldn't, go back later and try a dif till..or 3...

if u payat cs i reckon they be on it in a flash..u get nothing although u may get lucky, and dont be fobed off with an offer of the 10£ difference, point out the policy, nice and gentle...

Yes but you also need the poster telling you that tekken is the game of the week, which has been changed today I belive so it could be a problem finding one. There are no yellow stickers, they are yellow SEL's they are used to indicate whihc items are on offer all over the store. there are also some larger yellow sels called shelf talkers that are designed to grab your attention the talkers for the PSP promotion saud buy a PSP and game of the week and get £10 off which is better as it says by PSP where the poster says buy GOTW and psp get £10 off. it is a way stores can try to get away with just r+ring the game.

I dont think thats far off actually £750k avergare price of an xbox £300 would be about 2500 xboxes given away. how many stores are there? about 2000? rough numbers say its possble. if you take in to account that some were the cheaper psp's and the xbox cores Id belive that figure.

Thats gotta hurt no matter how big a company you are.:T everyone.

I was gonna post the tesco POI in here but I will make a seperate post.

I'd get down there right away and buy the 360 + Just Cause. The £20 discount shouldn't come off. If for some reason it does, you can always say you left your money in your car and they can void the transaction.
