If I understand the original poster re this he/she said KK spotted that the mobile number he gave was the same as one for another LARGE R&R.....so despite all the re-assurances that we are being paranoid about Tesco keeping their eye on us, this PROVES they do.
Not only are they cross checking names and addresses, they are cross checking mobile phone numbers:eek:
I haven't had anything bigger than a game/dvd/cd, and not been asked often to give a signature or post code etc. I am now trying to pay for all shopping with potential R&R items in it by cash, and don't give my tesco card if I can avoid it !
Maybe I am not so paranoid as I thought, but just sensible to take a few basic precautions. It isn't the giving or refusing of an R&R which would bother me, as much as a ban - and they don't need to prove that they WEREN'T breaking the law, to ban me.
In other words even if they are breaking the law by false advertising of prices etc, I would be the one to suffer/:cool:

By the way, any legal bods out there....whatever happened to the Data Protection Act.
Surely the 'registered reason' for having a record of our phone numbers isn't to ensure we are not abusing a Tesco policy ? Isn't this ANOTHER law Tesco are breaking ?

I got a PSP yesterday and the poster said "Save £10 when you buy with a PSP" so dont give up hope!

The way I see it, its still a multibuy/linksave whatever you wanna call it. You have to buy them both to get the discount, and anyone who HAS got the discount will testify that it comes under the "multibuy savings" bit on the receipt!

However, the post of mine which you deleted was entirely on topic! So, for the second time: Tesco's HO don't seem to be playing ball this morning. They've point-blank refused a full r&r on a PSP+GOTW based on, they say, the fact that the offer has expired!! This from Joanne Leith of all people! GOTW Poster was there plain as day; the furthest they will go is R&R on game, but say that they will take the console back. I think I may have been 'flagged' guys, just like renegade.

Any advice welcome. TIA ...

You may have just pre warned them that you are about to visit.

Tesco watch this site, so its maybe not advisable to advertise where you are going......or if you live in the immediate area.....actually where you have been, or you could become a "mark".....

I got mine yesterday on an out of date SEL so cant see why they have changed tack?

You could always try asking for someone higher up than Kevin or Joanne (dont know if anyones tried this?)

Worth a try if you've got no joy so far!

I am in the same situation, i thought it was still a R&R even if the offer as out of date?????? There were lots of posts about phones with out of date offers on and getting R&RS for them.

Can I just say, and I'll be happy to be proved wrong, but it does look like they have changed the offer so that the % reduction now comes off the game, rather then the game console package, If anybody has SEEN rather than "guessed" based on how it was in the past that this is NOT the case, could you let us know?

Ah hang on, was it based on the SEL alone or was there a GOTW poster up too?

In my case the SEL was out of date but the poster said "week commencing 22/9"

If you had a poster there then you should be laughing, I said I didnt even look at the SEL just the poster.
