At my local Tesco's they still have the Samsung E350i's at £99.99 but on a yellow ticket (but marked discontinued) - I am new to this game, does a yellow ticket count? What is the difference. If I am likely to get the R&R I will pick up in the early morning.
If I turn up later to confront them on R&R and they refuse, can I get a refund anyway by returning them (unopened by me)?

The leaflet states: All introductory offers and reduced to clear lines include the 10% discount, no further reduction applies.

Therefore, they would claim that the phone you mention is already reduced, so you're not entitled to R&R.

Yes, you can get a refund anyway.

Re my ordeal last week with manager making a scene and threatening police attendance and my subsequent complaint. E-mailed Dundee and Sir Terry on Sat afternoon and only recieved an automatic reply on Tuesday. Dundee said on phone today they have a 6 day backlog of complaints via e-mail but they will get round to me. Is this the runaround or has anyone else had the same trouble?

That sounds awful. If you want to share your complaint more fully you can blog your complaint by posting it on the public tesco-complaint blog:

    Hello Sainthalo,
Full and frank account of my story posted on Sat a/noon. I'll try to learn how to include it again for you but it's a bit of an epic. Maybe find the post number instead.

Found it. Page 13 post no 244. It's a cracker.

    Alright...most....etc, etc. Happy now? ;)

The thing I don't understand about my local Tesco is they withdrew P@P because of fraud, but then fitted Self-Service tills inside

I'm still waiting for the cheque for my xbox, maybe tomorrow
  • sorry forgot to ask, never noticed these scanners? where are they are they at the tills or hand held like to ones sainsburys did? deffo dont think they have them in my local store.

Well, went to Dungannon store last night. Had previously only got r+r on books. Purchased the L6 at £69.99 as did many on here. Store refused to accept a misprice and said the price was inclusive of the 10%. Also got a House Party II Ipod Speaker System charged at £59.97 out of date sel for £10 off. Had full r+r on this plus apology after she firstly attempted to fob me off with r+r is only applicable when the till girl scans your item twice:rolleyes:

Went back in today to return the L6 and noticed that the SEL had been changed to a yellow one that had 69.99 crossed out and then £53.99 in its place. Furious that this proved the 69.99 price was not inclusive of the 10% reduction I headed back to CS and was accused of changing the SELS myself!! Walked away not a happy bunny! Phoned HO who were lovely. The girl rang the store but the manager refused to back down and she has put in a complaint to the powers that be and will get back to me in a week!

    Fingers crossed

Yep, I read about that a while back. Quite unbelieveable, eh? Should we start talking in newspeak?

    Double plus good r&rwise!

Silly question I know but what do the other supermarkets do? just refund the difference so you pay the right price? I keep noticing differences between SEL's and pack prices on meat in my local Sainsburys (local Tesco are on the ball now - must be some hot R&R action keeping them keen).

Another obvious point but I see that there are fixed dates when all the offers end 3/10 or 10/10 is that just coincidence or is that how they work it?

I happen to observe that these "limited offers" are regularly extended. Example: 10 Stella 330ml, 2 for £14. Offer ended 29/09. Tried to RnR on 30/09...the !!!!!!!s had extended the offer to 10/10. :D Will be back on 11/10. We'll see. Ich will mein Freibier!! (I want my complimentary beer).

It's such a cheap psychological trick. "Well, I better strike now since tomorrow is too late." A few days later, offer extended, another simple mind will fall for the the same. Truth be told, they all do it, not only Tesco.

    Talking Newspeak?
