I have just phoned head office back and spoke to the person who was supposed to have called me yesterday (shes been busy) and I was told they are waiting for a response from the corporate affairs department to issue a response about the L6 problem. I told her that her colleague yesterday told me that they had a number of complaints about this phone and she said that all these complaints are still outstanding none have been resolved yet. What a liar!!! How frustrating is it not to be able to say 'Oh you liar'. Oh well waiting for another call back by 3.40pm.0

Who would you rather make that contract with? An automatic mistake maker or one that might actually notice somethingBoth are just as legally binding.
As a shareholder, where the hell did they get these things from? They are terrible! They must encourage theft, they must encourage CC fraud (which Tesco is liable for as it did not check the pin!), they must make some mistakes (such as allowing stuff with reduced prices on to fly though at top price), they can not do multiplication (I dare you to buy 7 of a fruit that isn't sold by weight) and they make the customer feel stupid if it goes wrong. They do not help prevent overcharging or other misprices where a checkout opperator can. And, finally, do checkout opperators ever make mistakes? If so then surely giving an untrained person that job is asking for trouble (you scan the shopping and bag up and I will just do the adding up and take the money love)
I swear I am sure the company that sold em these things had a yellow robin relient with T.I.T. written on the side.
The thing is, self-service tills aren't designed to cut back on overcharges, what they are there for is to reduce queues and reduce the number of staff needed.
And looking at the points you made, they can do quantities, but only when in staff mode, but normal customers just have to do things one at a time. And provided customers scan properly they shouldn't be overpriced on reduced stuff. And with regards to spotting misprices, the only ones that can be stopped by staff on checkouts is stickered products which can be set to require authorisation if needs be on self service tills.Titch0 -
I wrote to Sir Terry 3weeks ago, and have STILL not had a reply apart from a bog-standard letter last week from CS saying that they'll get back to me "in due course".......but whats a reasonable length of time i should be expected to wait?
It was a letter of complaint about one of their member's of staff, so surely they should have got back to me by now? Do you think i should write to him again, or telephone the Cheshunt HO?0 -
My L6 saga continues new person from HO phones and says yes you were overcharged and go back and get your refund, now I said I was told this yesterday and when I went back they said HO said it wasn't an overcharge no refund. But they are now going to phone the store again and make sure that I can go back and get my refund, I have asked that they let me know after they have spoken to the store because of what happened yesterday. So hopefully I will get my refund - wish I'd bought 6 to really upset them!0

sorry for my prevous post with the headline quoted, I know it had nothing to specifically do with the R+R thing but it made me think of how many people in a hurry go through them and just don't realise the mistakes!
Does anyone know if the Xbox + gotw glitch has been fixed as my local has them in stock with a 20 off game if bought with console up
Many Thankscoupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -
i think you're looking for Godfather deals Sarah, which have the discount advertised. Worth a go anyway.0

Yesterday 4/10 I bought some Kingsmill pack of 6 rolls (BOGOF). Got them home and noticed that 1 pack of the 4 had best before date of the 3/10 and a couple of the rolls had little bits of mould.
I wasn't happy, but thought it was my fault for not spotting it was out of date. Anyway I pop back in this morning and showed the nice lady on CS the receipt and the pack of rolls with out of date.
She said it wasn't my fault for not spotting expired best befores and offered full R&R. so I got money back for one pack, and she exchanged it for 2 packs due to BOGOF.
Very helpful and friendly.
It's Tesco who should be grateful, not you. Selling perishable foods past their Use By date is a very serious offence and they could have been fined many thousands of pounds for it if you'd gone to Environmental Health with your out-of-date product and a receipt to show the date you bought it.
I can't believe they just fobbed you off by giving you a replacement product.
Looks like Tesco got away with breaking the law yet again.0 -
yes the game for gotw is godfather in that store, i was going to be getting one anyway this weekend but if i try it and it doesn't come off then happy days if it does then theres plenty more there to r+r! :roflcoupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0

Do checkout operators make mistakes? Yes absolutely, think double scans, missed reduction labels etc. All tesco staff are trained, some admittedly may not seem that way but no one is just plonked onto a checkout and told to get on with it!!Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.
