Constantine wrote:Whilst I appreciate you may have a perfectly reasonable reason, it has proabably not helped you much leaving it a couple of weeks..
It shouldn't make any real difference though, as the NORMAL refund policy is 28 days anyhow - and even then .... the law says that TESCO must get it right, the fact a customer hasn't the time within 2 weeks to file his complaint with head office, shouldn't work in TESCO's favour.
But I DO understand the point you are validly making .... where possible I do/would follow up immediately.
Ulitmately it should be Tesco's responsibility though to settle fairly ON THE DAY ! Whenever I go as far as head office, I have to know I am in the right, OR I am simply wasting my time anyway.
Thanks for your input.

Constantine - What do you make of the new problems with 10% off mobiles?
It sucks. Frustrates the hell out of me that store staff are left to pick up the pieces when some poncy overpaid buyer screws up (yet) again. A few less free lunches and a bit more time in a customer facing enviroment would do the lot of them a world of good.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

coopers12345 wrote:Hate to say this but that isn't the point of contract. The poster is purely an invitation to treat - that being an invitation to make an offer to buy the mentioned product. The contract is made once money has been handed over for the product.
You are of course 100% correct on this ....
I was making a generalisation of point of sale (where poster is displayed) and the point of payment .... and therefore point of contract.
Right to point it out though. Although regardless they are still in breach of trading standards, and should under their policy issue a full refund (and allow me to retain the product).0 -

I do agree with the above, that this is a head office !!!! up, leaving staff to sort it out but I'd be a lot happier if they admit it is an error and give me my £69.99 back.0 -

yea. they've asked me before, I don't quite know why they do this.
I didn't really want to give my details, didnt see why they needed it, said something like "Derek, Joshtown, 33 the meadows" or something.0 -

It is true that not all store staff do this, but a lot do. Constantine wouldn't do it, but he's one of Tesco's better managers.
I have my bad points.

This has been discussed before. It is in common with a number of other retailers. It is to ensure that the CSD staff are not making up refunds to stuff in their pockets. A simplistic measure, but designed to remove temptation from otherwise honest staff.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
