He also argued that it was down to discretion anyway, which I again disagreed with, as it has to be CLEAR to the CUSTOMER at POINT OF SALE .... which is POINT OF CONTRACT.
Hate to say this but that isn't the point of contract. The poster is purely an invitation to treat - that being an invitation to make an offer to buy the mentioned product. The contract is made once money has been handed over for the product.0 -

It is still a criminal offence under the Consumer Protection Act, however. Misleading price indications, blah, blah, blah...In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Are you telling me i could walk into tesco and get that sony ericson phone free by an r and R?
What does that mean exactly, i like the idea of a free phone TBH0 -
r& r = refund and retain, you need to read backwards to get teh detailsTrophies are like Buses, you wait 26 years.
Then 3 come along at once!!!!0 -
I was overpriced online and they only refunded the difference. Don't we get r&r online??No reliance should be placed on the above.0

Basically, if you're overcharged, you get your money back and the item for free. Have a read through the last couple of pages to see what the problem is with the phones. Chances are, you will have to argue, as staff mysteriously forget the policy when the items are more than 50p. There's a separate misprices thread where people post stuff they've been overcharged on. If there's anything on there that interests you, just remember to look out for it when you go to Tesco. On this thread, we basically discuss our various experiences and help each other fight the BS handed out from the stores.
On some mobile phones, no discount is coming off at the till, and some stores are saying the discount has already been taken off. 360NOTOUT posted something about an in-store magazine that can show that the 10% discount advertised on the mobile phone stands and leaflets isn't already taken off the product. The magazine shows the old price for the phones, which is the same as the current price being charged. Store staff will lie to you and argue with you, but stand your ground. If all else fails. leave the store with the items and take it up with HO.
Good luck.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Picked up on product then walked to the other end of the store, mulled around the procucts, pretended to calculate on my free mobile, picked up product, went back to electrical, picked up a plasma tv, took it to the other end of the store, took it out of the trolley and put it in the middle of the aisle.
picked up a a couple of each mobile phone with 10% off leaflets, walked to the other end of the store and left my trolley full of stuff in the middle of the aisle.
Went to CS with wombled receipts, left store, stopped at exit and mooned!!!
Turned around and gave them the bird.
Bearing that in mind you must realise that people are going to be followed, some may appear suspicious, some not. However people are watched and followed. How would you react if whilst watching someone they acted in the manner that you have described?Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!

dh did his first RnR this evening on the only mobile phone in the shop! it was an Lg B2100 on virgin priced at £37.49 white SEL only one apart from the L6 mentioned above which was sold out!! went through checkout but 10% didnt come off - Full RnR - after manager tried to give only the 10% back but dh pointed out he.d already been overcharged etc... - manager knew his stuff!!
they took SEL off straight away apparently the phone had been reduced but not on the SEL (took photo of SEL and poster too!) and the small print of the offer says if a phone has already been discounted it is excluded from 10% etc.. very misleading advertising -
he took my dh name and address is that right?0
