    Interesting.

I suspect that a solicitor's letter (or possibly even a threat of court action) would see comments containing some or all of the above to be removed as they would definitely constitute a libel (assuming they were untrue) and ebay are as much liable as the author since they are the publishers.

Moglex, I would tend to agree that using the word 'scammer' or suggesting a fraud has been committed is almost more serious than a bit of bad language. Suggesting someone is a fraudster or a con man would I think look very poor if it went to a magistrates court.

I see he's not sold anything for a while (he didn't reply to my question on his TomTom) and the negs stick out like a sore thumb on his feedback. Maybe he's abandoned it.

Is there anyway of finding out if he has another ID?

Just read this from start to finish (amazing what you can find to do when your wife is expecting you to be cleaning the house!) and just wanted to say that the sellers response has totally justified the OP's original reaction and her totally understandable neg for him.

As for those that said people won't take any notice of one or 2 negs, I would disagree and say that most people would avoid someone who has left feedback using the language this seller has.

If he wanted £20 and not a penny less, he should have started at £20.

It was an auction, sometimes you get more than you want, sometimes less. If it had been bid up to over £20 would he have contacted the buyer and said "I only wanted £20 heres a refund on the difference"?
