After an exchange of more emails yesterday the guy said "he would rather snap the thing than sell it for £10.50"
What a horrible person.0 -

Hmmm….. I think your all being a bit unfair. It’s the sensible sellers on ebay who constantly get screwed by listing fees, paypal fees, rule changes to prevent us doing anything that would result in the company earning less outa this.
As sellers we watch as our auctions are constantly ruined by foreign zero feedbackers or as people file ridiculous paypal claims and freeze our accounts at the click or a button with absolutely no justification.
I once sold a set of tickets for 20 quid.. and at the price I decided to keep them and go myself. Id understand if I were the bidder than a fifth of somethings face value isn’t a fair deal.
I agree with the seller. Give him a break for goodness sake.0 -
I know what your saying.. you won fair and square, but there comes a point where youd rather keep the damn item than sell it for peanuts. And at the end of the day when so many buyers constantly fail to pay or demand refunds why shouldnt sellers be allowed to cancel the deals too?0

I disagree with you totally.
When you list an item you list it at the minimum price you'd be prepared to accept albeit it's sometimes a lot less than its actual worth, but as I said previously, that's the name of the game.
Sometimes it works the other way and we achieve a lot more money than we expect - swings and roundabouts.0 -
Ebay if definately not swings and roundabouts for sellers... not by a long shot...
We list things at 99p because we know it wont sell at that price. On this occasion the guy called it wrong and should pay up.. but as im trying to explain there comes a point where youd rather keep the thing than sell it at a particular price and considering ebay reserves are a rip off and ebay changed the rules on ending auctions early, I don’t blame the guy for thinking enough is enough and wanting to keep it.
Do the decent thing and say tut tut but that’s all. No good will come of leaving him negative feedback, infact itll mean he wont leave you postitive.
Say what you want but youll never see him again and no one really cares about feedback anyway so why not jus offer to both leave each other positive and say no more about it.0 -

I have remained pleasant in my emails, just stating that I expect to receive the item for what i paid for it. I have also contacted other buyers that won the other auctions yesterday. Just waiting the 10 days so I can file a NPS, and then will neg him to warn others. Just hope others do the same, so that I can't continue trading on ebay!
Thanks guys for all your help!
Well done for saying you will use the neg as well:T :T :T :T . Too many have posted similar stories saying they won't neg for fear of retaliation.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -

Well she is putting up with crap as a buyer, so what is the difference. If you want £20 for an item, start it at £20. Its simple really.
And his emails have shown that it was far from a genuine mistake, and that he is just arrogant enough to think he can flaunt the rules by pretending he didn't know about the reserve.
He deserves a negative. In fact, he deserves reporting to ebay for trying to get additional money out of the OP outwith the system. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
