I am not in the habit of posting negative reviews but the world should know about Scent Mall - they quote a low price, get your order, then take an elevated price from your credit card. The goods do not come until hassled; they then send FAKE perfume - yes, this was verified (Chanel themselves know what Scent Mall are up to). It is very clever of Marleyboy to say this is competitors etc etc . I assure you I have been ripped off and can prove it. Many people are now contacting UKECC and ECC Bulgaria - who know of Scent Mall and say that 'they are trying to make arrangement to repay customers', I am NOT stupid - it was impossible to seefrom the website that this co was in Bulgaria. Visa will do nothing about it. Is it a crime to try and get goods a little cheaper? Is that not why we are all using THIS website?? Scent Mall are scammers - google for yourselves - I wish I had had all the information before losing a lot of money.
Please do show where I have claimed this is from competitors. I will admit to being doubtful about the original posts, as nobody had posted anything constructive that could help expose them. I dont think I could be any clearer about this.

A member eventually pointed towards sitejabber (all credit to sunil_f) so I AGAIN looked into it, alas I became suspicious of one post from the aforementioned company which made me suspicious of them, after a little more digging, the company was exposed as a sham, of which I HAVE ALREADY INCLUDED THE DETAILS that, as far as I am concerned has exposed this company, along with the new name they are trading under (TRY READING THESE POSTS!!!!), I have also posted a link showing who to mail for a refund (TRY READING THESE POSTS!!!!).

After delving into the ethics (NOT RELYING ON ANONYMOUS POSTS AS EVIDENCE), I was able to point out the discrepancies of this company and can repeat again that This Company IS Dodgy.

I am not sure what else I can say about this company other than AVOID THEM, and point out to those who were scammed by them, where to claim a refund, as you are having difficulty in grasping this, I will Re-Repeat my last post in BOLD for you........
Victims of this scam are getting refunds via the ECC, who are fully aware of this company.

Contact http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/aft...seas-problems/ and let them know, it seems those using this route are being refunded (although it can take upto 28 days for a refund), Good luck and do let us all know how you get on.
I would look into it even further for you, but I fear any further investigations are not only wasting my time, but completely pointless - as your post clearly proves to me, so I have washed my hands of this thread. Do feel free to run around in circles over it. ;)

• I too seem to have been ripped off by this company. They sent me the wrong perfume and said if I posted it back to them they would replace it and the cost of the postage. That was 6 weeks ago now and they did respond to my emails at first but now the email address is not available. Usually I am careful with ordering on the net and usually use Paypal to protect me, so am really unhappy that they caught me out this time!
• Same problems here I'm afraid. I'm now persueing it through my credit card provider. ScentMalls telephone number and website (020 8133 0908) is now dead!
• Hi Everybody, I've joined this site today specifically to report my own experience of Scent Mall. I'm afraid it's the same story, paid £50 for a particular fragrance and have today received a completely different one which I expect is fake anyway. I'm kicking myself for not checking the company first as there are plenty of buyer experiences on the net. I consider myself as fairly savvy and have been happily shopping on the internet for several years now and this is my first rip-off.
Thanks for the info regarding the ECC, I've completed their complaints form so will let you know what they say. It does look as if the website is now closed so hopefully no-one else will get ripped off!
• I bet "Alex" is female, given the name "Ivanova".

I'm assuming Bulgarian naming conventions are the same as Russian (which I know about) because both languages are Slavic in origin.

Ivanova for a Russian would indicate "wife/daughter of Ivanov", and "Alex" would probably be short for "Aleksandra".

Sorry, just thought I would correct you... Ivanov/a is a very common surname in Russian, and different from the "paternal name", which for a daughter of someone with a first name of Ivan would be Ivanovna.

I too was sucked in by them and the first perfume arrived = wrong one - choice to send back for a refund or keep and get £20 off the right one - should have gone to specsavers...I paid the extra in euros via my c c and bank verified etc etc and then they said it had not processed twice and tried to get me to put through again - luckily I did not but no perfume and no website now - have writted to ecc and faxed them emails of what happened and emailed the person they ask you to contact to get your money back by a certain date - asked for 10 days from today or the ecc will medite on my behalf - what a doughball I was to believe it was too good to be true!
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
• :mad:I recently ordered Armani White perfume from this company. I checked out four pages of the website before doing so and all these pages sung the company's praises so I felt confident enough to place the order and pay by credit card.

12 days later my parcel arrived. It was in a jiffy bag and the box inside was very crumpled but did appear to be sealed. However the perfume wasn't the one I had ordered but a much bigger bottle of Armani Diamonds. I quite like that perfume, so I opened the box and inside was a very old bottle that had been filled with cloudy foul smelling water!!

I have since found a website called Site Jabber that lists hundreds of complaints about this company and I really hope something can be done to stop other innocent people throwing their cash away. I have had to put a stop on my credit card because what's to stop them taking more money when they feel like it, since they have all my details and are obviously criminals.

BE WARNED! DO NOT LET THIS OUTFIT IN BULGARIA SCAM YOU.

UPDATE.

After completing the ECC complaints form, I received an email telling me to contact Ognyan Kostadinaov at the scentmall complaints department (o.kostadinov@perfumes.bg). I emailed him, sending a copy of the reply I had received from the ECC, requesting a refund within 7 days of return of the goods, plus the cost of the return postage. I received a reply agreeing to this and telling me where to send the perfume to. I sent it back, emailed them to say I'd done this and that the package would need to be signed for. I received my refund on the 29th December, though it's for the original amount not including the £7.50 postage. However, I'm happy to have my £50 back and don't feel inclined to pursue the postage - I'm now putting the whole thing down to experience!

Thanks so much to this website, hope everyone else out there is as fortunate as myself. I think the key is to involve the ECC - let Scentmall know you've done this and tell them you want the problem resolved within a certain timescale.
Thanks again!:T:j

Sorry, but I am married to a Russian. J Michael Strazcynski (creator of the TV series Babylon 5) is also part Russian, and he had a character in there called Susan Ivanova, and her father's surname was Ivanov.

I was searching on the internet for a good price for perfume as a Xmas present for my wife. (Dec 2010) I found their .org address and I was impressed by the professional looking website and order processing. It seemed great. Search engine optimisation has the site coming high on discount perfume lists. I originally found it on 3rd party traders on Amazon These people are clever, well organised and know what they are doing on the internet. It was not until I placed the order that the confirmation showed it was being processed in Bulgaria…
Slightly worried, I hoped the perfume would arrive in time for Xmas. It did not. I gave it a few more days, allowing for the snow and ice disruption. Still nothing. I then started chasing – and was given a non existent ‘tracking number’. I replied that this could not be checked, but also asked friends who live in Bulgaria to check it – nothing there either.
A brief search on the internet (yes, I really wish I’d done that before placing the order) then brought up not dozens, not hundreds, but thousands of complaints about Scentmall on their .org site but also operating either as .co.uk (now shut down) or as a .net site
It seems they work on two scams – simply not delivering anything at all, and then firing off spurious emails until the customer gets tired and gives up, or, actually sending something which turns out to be a fake perfume and usually not even a fake of the actual brand ordered.
Going to Google and searching for “Scentmall Scam” brings 109,000 results
“Scentmall fake” gives 115,000 results
“Scentmall complaint” gives 84,600 results
“Scentmall fraud” gives 92,900 results
Given that a relatively low number percentage of victims will actually pursue the rip-off to the point of going onto the internet to make a statement, it suggests that the actual scale of this fraud is massive. If there are 100,000 listed complaints and the average sum lost is, say £30 and there are at least 200,000 actual victims, which is based on 50% of victims are motivated to complain on the internet (a very optimistic ratio) then these pirates in Bulgaria have made £6 million pounds by stealing smallish sums from a lot of people. The numbers could in fact be much, much larger.
Surely there is some way the banks and credit card companies can flag these type of operations and prevent more money being lost? Is there not an industry circulated black list of scam traders?
An internet search found that the CEO and manager of Scentmall is a person called Radoslav Naydev.
From the thousands of listed complaints against Scentmall, all following similar patterns, Scentmall steals money throughout the year. My guess however, is that it will peak at two times during the year – Christmas (when they caught me) and Valentine’s Day – 14th February. Is it possible to post a warning to stop people getting ripped off as February is coming round soon…..
