Just phoned, pleaeded poverty (again!) And the fella on the phone said "You've had 8 deals out of us last year!" I said, "Wll can't I have another?" and he offered me the same package for £13.50 instead of £18 for a year. I said "I usually have the movies at Xmas" so he said I could have all the channels and the movies till January the 10th for .....£18.50!!!!
Yeah!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

If you upgrade to Sky+ and take multiroom do you have to keep you old box plugged into a telephone line because we do not have a point in the room it would be moved to0

Don't think so, our normal sky box hasn't been plugged in for ages due to dd pulling the wire out of the wall and breaking the socket :rolleyes:0 -
Just rang sky to cancel after being with them for 15+ years and was offered 25% discount for a year subject to staying with them for another 12 months or 3 months at £18.50 normally pay £37.00 per month thanks op a few pennies saved0

Rang sky the other day to cancel the movie package, have pretty much recorded everything that I wanted so wasn't really watching it anymore, told them we had to cut back and she replied that everyone was doing the same because the cost of gas and electricity had gone up so much, as they were just an entertainment they were the first thing to go. She then offered us the movie package until January for £4 on top of our usual sub of £22. I said yes because I'd probably want movies at xmas again anyway.0

While you are still on the contract with them you need to have both boxes connected to the phone line. As you need a separate card for each box, Sky check regularly to make sure both cards are being used on the same phone line. If not they will offer (threaten) to charge full price for the mirror card rather than the £10.
We were decorating and moved the second box for a week and disconnected the phone line, before the week was done we'd had a letter telling us that the box had to be reconnected. When I phoned they said that it is part of the multiroom conditions that both boxes are connected. I think it is to stop you taking your second card to a friend who is no longer with Sky and giving it to them to use!!
When our multiroom was installed we didn't have a phone point in the room so the engineer installed an extension for us.0 -
I phoned sky on Thursday and said I wanted to cancel to save up for SKY HD. I was offered 25% off for six months, or 12 months with a month contract. I ummed and aahed and then said that I would still prefer to cancel. They came back with 50% off for six months with no obligation and an invite to call back at six months to extend!
Thanks to all previous posters for the inspiration and advice0 -
I took up the offer of 25% discount for a year in February and was told I would be committing to sky for another 12 months. I have always wondered though if this was legally binding as I only verbally agreed?0

How long after you cancel will they give you 'come back' offers? We've been signed up to sky plus for a year now, but we've just moved to a new address, this shouldn't affect us being able to 'cancel' should it? Like with AOL, if we moved house we had to sign up to another 12 months with them before we can cancel.0

Does anyone know of a non 0870 number that still works. I've tried a geographical one from my work phone (number withheld) and my mobile and it says I can't call it from my area.
PM me with any working numbers please.
Thanks0
