We have had sky + now for 11 months and yesterday had a phone call offering us insurance for our sky + box for £99 for the year. Is this worth it?
Also, I was considering phoning them to say I wanted to cancel after the 12 months was up and seeing what they would offer me!:smileyheaRachel xx0 -

NO !!!!! Do not under any circumstances take sky insurance or EVER PAY for a service call.If your kit goes wrong then ring $ky and book a service calll. They will inform you of the charge you must refuse this and threaten to cancel and stick to it,the callout fee will be waived and your equipment (dish or reciever) will be repaired free of charge.Onwards and Upwards0 -
Does anyone know, If you don't get an offer of a reduction and then carry out a threat of cancelling your sky contract - will they take away your sky dish and box?

Thanks! I did think that it would probably be covered our house insurance anyway.
I will try the above if anything does happen to the box.:T:smileyheaRachel xx0 -

Think they are wise to this now - I was given the 0870 Sky TV number0 -
Phoned cancellations last night and the best offer for sky+ we got was £49 for the box, £30 installation and no offer on the packages.
We went ahead with the cancellation hoping they will get back to us with an improved offer.

Well reading all your posts has inspired me!
I rang sky on the premium number
Tried the freephone but as someone said earlier, they just give you the 0870 number to ring.
Gave them the usual story of reining in my finances and possibly looking at a freeview box.
They immediately offered me half price from £21.00 down to £10.50 for the next 3 months.
I asked if I could have movies added to that and they offered me all the movies and my normal family package for only £18.00 for the next 3 months! :T
Thank you once again to all Mse'ers!!!Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945Smoke free days = 11 Years :TCash saved so far = £125,45,110 -
I phoned sky at the end of September and was offered 3 months half price but checked my account and they have still taken (on 4/10) what I was paying before.
Do I ring again or do people think the reduced price will start from next payment?
Thanks.0
