I just phoned Sky for a deal on Sky+. I mentioned the £79 offer that others have had joy with, but the lady said she hasn't heard of that before. She spoke to her manager, but told me that £99 + £60 install is the cost. I asked if there is a way to wave the install costs... which she did! I got if £99, which I'm happy about in the end.
  • The lady I spoke to just baiscally said this is a fixed price half price for Sky + at £50 and half price installation at £30 approx = £79
I did try and haggle for £69 but she said iit was a fixed price so they oviosly have details on this price and are just trying to get you to pay full price

my dad had the return to sky and get a free refurbished sky+ box flyer has anyone who is a customer tried to get this as am thinking of trying
  • Please try to pay sky nothing!! Just phone to cancel, they usually make offers to get you to stay. If they don't however, take it on the chin stand your ground and CANCEL, they will flood you with offers to come back.

I cancelled because my box broke and their customer service was poor (they wanted to charge me to repair it!). I eventually gave in after two months of phone calls and flyers offering me deals to return.

I got SKY + Free and 6mths at half price on my tv package, which actually made the fact that I only want premiership football, worthwhile. :j

    I totally agree
    We cancelled 2 years ago

    They send repeated offers

Last Christmas we got 3 months full basic package for £23-50 total and got a £50 Argos voucher - cancelled a month in advance fer 3 months - so effectively had free sky and £26 Argos credit haha

Then used it as a freeview box until September from March

Now got 4 months at £5 per month and got 2 packages and all the Sports Channels SS1 SS2 SS3 and SS Extra haha

I have free Telewest also so pay very little for good TV and go down the local pub to watch footie other months
  • Last weekend I phoned Sky to see if I could get a deal on Sky+ and tried the honest approach of asking if there was any deals they could offer me. I was told there wasn't anything they could do and it would cost me £160 and I would have to wait at least a week until install, which I declined.

Last night (after reading this post) I phoned again and this time decided to tell them that I was going to cancel. They asked me why I wanted to cancel so I told them that I want to upgrade to recordable TV, and I had decided to go with NTL as their installation and box is free whereas Sky+ is £160. I was then put on to the cancellations department where I repeated my story.

After briefly trying to dissuade me from NTL, I was offered a half price Sky+ box at £49 and half price installation at £30. They are also installing it tomorrow, less than 2 days later!
  • Sky + £79 for me. I was offered it straight away after getting through to cancellations. Im happy with that.
Am i here to save money or spend money......hmmmmm
