Thanks for that number. I was on hold for half an hour yesterday trying to get through to cancellations, and even at only 8p a minute it's an annoying bill that I didn't want to repeat today.

I took them up on £79 Sky+ installed and I'll try to milk them for more in a few months time.

my sky+ is ordered for friday and i got a new card in the post monday so yes i think you should have one by now?

    Still no card

Just phoned the free phone number to be told I won't get a new card unless there is another box on my account, which there isn't.

NJO - have you taken multiroom?

How annoying, that means I have to pay £20 to get another card doesn't it?

Does anyone know where there's a list of the channels you get if you have no card in the box?

Hi all, after much faffing about I finally got through to sky on 0800 0560939, do not press cancellations as the phone call gets mysteriously cut off, mmmmm.

Press the number for customer care, 3 I think it was.
Had been on the full package for a while so said I wanted to cancel, offered package at £15.00 per month but I declined as I genuinely wished to cancel.
I figured that I could just watch the free view channels that we'll get anyway (for free) through the digibox.

Anyway the very nice lady offered free until january and then £15.00 for life, went through the channels that hubby and the kids watch. Got the variety and knowledge package with Disney movies and other bits and pieces that I can't remember. Can also still access box office if so required.
Wondered what they would come up with if I persisted with the cancellation but hey this is fine by me especially I as have nothing to pay until next year.

Incidently I originally tried the 0800 587 5707 number, they tried fobbing me off with the 0870 number, I started waffling on that it's actually illegal to only offer a high fee paying number without a local number to ring. Woman insisted that they cannot put me through, I asked to speak the manager, put on hold, woman came back and guess what, said she would put me through to customer services. Result, yey, high five.............................
no, after waiting 7 minutes the call was cut off :rotfl:
Did laugh as now I was on a mission to get through on a freephone number, hence all the above.:D

    Good luck.

Last time I cancelled Sky I still got all the free terrestrial channels (BBC3, ITV4, all that quality programming) but didn't get freeview stuff like Sky Sports News or E4.
  • i'm not bothered about sky news or E4, I just don't fancy cancelling and then having to buy a nre roof top ariel, my old one is broken.

Am upgrading to Sky+ and multiroom. The room where the spare box is going is upstairs and doesnt have a phone socket. Will they run a telephone wire from the hall up the stairs and round doors into the room (about 18m)? Also do they run another cable from the dish into this room or is it run from the original point in living room?

Not sure about the phone socket, but the cable will run from the dish.
