I asked the same question - see post 105 on previous page and answer from purplepatch. But basically yes you have to pay £10
  • Is £79 the cheapest price for SKY+ We have sky downstairs and upstairs but it would be interesting to get sky+. Means when im working late i can tape all the good stuff.
What will happen to the old box i have? Will they take it away and credit us or what?
Is it worth waiting to see if a better system comes out?

I was offered this at £49 including installation for sky + (but that was only if I took multiroom as well at £10 a month).

If you've already got mutiroom then £79 may be the best you can get.

The only better thing coming out as far as I can see is Sky HD (this includes sky +) but at the moment your talking around £299 for that - I would expect that to come down quite a lot in the next year though.

    Hi,

I have received through the post yesterday from SKY a DVD with the Sky+ offer for £49 for existing customers. Therefore, why are we going through all the hassle of cancellation when we can get it anyway from CS?

It also makes me wonder what the cancellation dept would really give us if we decline this offer that open to anyone anyway & push for the next level of offers?

I just rang Sky tonight to cancel as we decided we wanted freesat instead, they were begging me to stay and offered me 2 packages for £7.50 for 6 months. Which is a lot better as we had been paying £18 and watching very few channels anyway.

I wasnt going to follow what others have been doing here, as i thought they would probably just agree to cancel me, but have had Sky for over 3 years now.

To anyone else like me who is unsure, go for it, the lady i spoke to was really nice too and had a nice chat to her.
  • Is there a free fone number???

Have you got anymore details on this? I'm useless at phoning up and haggling. If they have the offer out there and I have proof I'd be a lot more comfortable with it.

I can't see anything for £49 on their website.

Im useless at haggling too, but believe me, they do it all for you instead:j they really are determined to hang on to their customers. As soon as they hear that word 'cancel', thats it.

Are the subs paid in advance though? Im wondering if im due a refund for 2 weeks worth of packages that ive had cut?

I'm in the same situation and they told me that yes, they are paid in advance, and I will get a rebate - maybe not in time for this month's direct debit as it is probably too soon to go through, but next month I should see it.
