    TGM,

Screw them for more. Several times I've phoned to cancel - they have offered me 50% off full package for 3 months, phone after a month and they give you 40% off for another 3 months. Just say you want to cancel, they will accept and put you through to someone else who will offer you the package you want. Let us know how you get on. Good Luck!

I have just upgraded to Sky+ @ £49 for box plus free installation and agreed to take multiroom at £10 pm. But do I have to pay for multiroom as we have the Sports Mix which is two premium channels or am I getting muddled up and there is a £10 subscription for Sky+ and £10 for multiroom.

    Think their offers are either:
£49 + free installation with multiroom (costing £10 per month) or
    £49 + £30 installation without multiroom

Having 2 premium channels means you don't pay an additional £10 per month subscription for having sky+. So, despite having 2 premium channels you will still be paying £10 a month for multiroom but not £10 a month for sky+.

    Hope that makes sense ;)

That's brilliant Purplepatch, it was the 2 x £10 that confused me. We wanted multiroom so we have obviously got their best offer.

after my friend was offered sky+ for £49 with free installation. I decided to give it a whirl myself and managed to get the same deal..

Beforehand, I was speaking with customer services who told me they would reduced my subscription to £30 for 3 months... then she put me through to sky+..

Sky+ sales said that the £30 offer hadn`t been applied and I`d need to call back.. so I did - and nobody understood or could find the code for the £30 offer.. so now we have lost out ....

    What should I do..

have they took it off because i threatened to cancel and then got Sky+ ordered??

I don't think they tend to give a deal on sky+ as well as a deal on the package, seems to be one or the other.

Same thing happened to me - accepted the sky+ deal and then asked about special deals, but she wasn't having any of it.

Thing is, once you've signed up for sky+ you're on another contract, so the phoning up threatening to cancel isn't going to work any more. Guess the best way to do it is to get the package deal sorted first (making sure you don't sign up for any contract) and then ring again to say it's still too expensive and that you still want to cancel, is there anything else they can do.

Out of interest, has anyone managed to get a deal on their package by just ringing customer services and saying that you need to reduce your channels due to cost rather than by threatening to cancel?

The ONLY department that can offer the deals quoted on this sited is the cancellation dept. They can only be applied when you could genuinely cancel the account i.e. not within the 12 month initial contract period
If you just want to reduce your pacakge then sky are still keeping you as a customer so do not have to offer you some inducement to stay.
