The OP had a problem - a checkout operator looked at her in a sleazy manner and asked her a wholly inappropriate and incredibly rude question. She was right to report him and I'm glad that it has been resolved satisfactorily. He sounds like a creep and I hope he gets the sack. Should it be the case that he is a decent chap who has learning difficulties/mental handicap, then I hope the management either re-train him or employ him in a role without direct customer contact (or alternatively, if it’s the case that the chap does have learning difficulties/mental handicap but is also a perv then he should be given the boot too).

That the thread has been hijacked by people who want to badge disabled people isn't the fault of the OP! Your tone struck me as needlessly aggressive towards the OP when she wasn’t the one to take the thread down this particular off-topic tangent. It just seems to me that you were looking for any excuse to pounce at the merest whiff of prejudice, when none was actually present (from the OP) and no offence was, I’m sure, intended.

    Ho hum.
as someone else has unfortunately found (one of many) the last resort tactic is often the spelling and grammar police .....i await a visit.
I quite agree. The only time I've ever commented on the spelling and grammar of another poster was when some idiot was making it his business to feed his pathetic ego by belittling others and playing spelling cop.
hopefully you aren't the 'stalking' type
Don't flatter yourself hamsy baby .

And I do apologise because my earlier post was a tad *ahem* 'agressive', but you really wound me up!

Thanks Paint, must admit have had enough now especially as I hate arguments of any kind.

Do find odd however that Hammy's post said you could still be homophobic and go to a gay wedding,I am just happpy that two people ae in love together and want to commit whether Gay,straight or whatever. I am happy being straight but doesnt bother me what sexual origin people choose.

I am happy to leave this subject now, thanks for the support of you nice guy's.

  • sorry but i am with hammy on the homophobia. of course you can have gay friends and be homophobic, just as you can be black and racist. in fact i know gay men who are homophobic. its about pre judging people.
none of this takes away from your original complaint of rude staff (the question he asked) and the bad chicken, it just shows how careful people need to be, and how easy it is to cause offence.

I'm with you sorry,i didnt read it right and can see what you meant, sorry getting on my high horse a bit there with the homo bit, I know what you mean though one of my pals hates being gay and struggled for years,he yearns for children and would love the 2 point 4 children but he can always adopt,so hopefully that is what they will do.

    Thanks for all replies now,
