    hi,

I have spoke a lot on MSE regarding my issues in making freinds, thankfully I seem to be in a far better place than I was

I have joined a dance class which is very social and tonight I am off out to a themed disco (themed as in the type of dance I do). Its a start to building up some confidence in meeting people and making some friends. I also had my second book group this week and that went well too although no instant friends but I read a book I wouldnt normally consider reading and had a intelligant discussion about its merits plus an amazing cheese and blueberry muffin!!

Next week I am hoping to attend Knit and Knatter as I really enjoyed knitting when I was a kid.

For those people who care for others have you heard of Lancashire College or other similar schemes - the govt is rightly promoting things to help people who care for the disabled and there is a lot available although finding the ones suited to you can be a problem.

Hoopylass - I bit the bullet and went to a meetup on Wednesday, was a little odd but a few people seemed nice and am going to another one on Saturday so will see how it goes.
Also signed up for a book group that starts next week and a dining out/coffee group - which turned out to be only 4 people but 2 were around my age and had some things in common.
OH actually said to me the other day that he was really shocked I was actually doing all this - which I think must be a good sign! Am finding it quit scary but think that this needs to be like my New Year Resolution that I need to just do things to meet people, instead of constantly talking myself out of things and thinking of excuses.

Lol trust me I still feel like a saddo but Im slowly realising i cant sit at home moaning that friends are all too busy instead I can get out and try some new things and meet some new people.

Wouldnt it be funny if we were all at the same meetup?:rotfl:

I'm in Glasgow too!! :j  :j I've not read through the whole thread, but I agree that it gets harder to meet new, interesting people as your life gets busier and busier. I also think it gets more difficult as you get older, a lot ofthe school gate mums are working / studying etc. I used to be rushing away with the best of them, but now I work from home....I need to unchain myself from the washing etc etc and have some fun! School hours only, of course.
So, anyone like to really go mad and get bodypainted? Or even just come for a cup of tea then??
