WARNING Utopia Office Ltd consortium - cheap Dyson DC31 Animal - or not!

Hi guys,

I fell for this....BUT, my DC31 arrived today!

How? Well, I, like most on here was looking for this handheld and found this company to be way cheaper than anyone else. Went for it and got the now infamous email about credit card machine broke etc...so when I emailed back asking for more info an invoice and assurances plus a little more discount was offered. Too good to be true I know, but I took the bait!

I first started to get suspicious around week 2 after the order as I had managed to speak to Anthony over the phone and he had assured me the vac would be with me asap. It wasn't.
After a few more un-answered phone calls and emails I trawled the internet for more info on this company and ended up here. Thanks to the poster who got the info from companies house with Utopia's accountants details (see previous posts). I rang their accountants and spoke to a very nice lady who told me she had had several phone call regarding these vac's and Utopia (this was yesterday). She was not very happy, as she worked for an accountants and not Utopia.

Anyway she promised me she would ring Anthony straight away, as enough was enough, and she would ring me back!!

Sure as eggs are eggs, and true to her word she rang me to tell me she had spoken with Anthony and he was working hard to get all the orders out, but prior to her call Anthony rang me from this tel number for all those SICK of trying the other number to no avail : 01359 253693 He explained he had been very busy and was struggling to fulfil quick turnarounds. I would hate to see a slow turnaround!!!!!

Anyway, I had sent an email just after my phone call with their accountants threatening legal action and watchdog, I'm not sure if it was this email or the lady from his accountantor a combination of the two, but my DC31 has just turned up at 13.30 today!! All brand new and working, but not from Amazon.

Hope this has helped those still trying to get their order, try the above number. It's taught me a BIG lesson, but I'm happy now!!

I see all of the rude 'older' posters have gone quiet now flyjetz post!

Again, I am still waiting my Dyson but unlike others have an open mind (prob naively)!

To be fair to the sceptics, the phone number above is their fax, I can't talk 'fax' could not even talk to ZX81 (now there's a blast)!

I posted on this subject to try and convey my experience with this company. It looks like I've been lucky, what with Caroline in their accountants and an email threatening legal action or as I've said a combination of both!!

As for the phone number, that is the number that flashed up on my phone, and is now logged in my past calls. I'm guessing if your getting a fax tone it can be used for ringing and faxing!! just a hunch.

If you are still waiting for your dyson and getting no joy from Utopia, badger their accountants on: 020 7493 7302. It worked for me!

You flyjetz but i only fly the humble 172, does this mean i will take longer on final for a landing. Am i more of a sucker than the dyson itself??

Hi, I think I may have been scam. I order a dyson on the 6th and paid in to there bank on the 9th. I have not here from them since then. I have sent them a strong email and am waiting for a reply. I dont know what to think this thread is very confusing. I really hope I will receive my order as it is my mum's xmas present and that is all the money I had so I can not replace it. fingers cross! What do you think I should do? anyone know how I go about getting my money back?

Call the police and your bank. trading standards etc. if you are genuine.

if you are like the vast majority of first time posters on this thread im sure you will get your dyson soon (as they mostly work for the company)
