  • As part of the scam they (or perhaps just Mr Essinger himself in multiple guises) will continue to bombard this thread with posts which try to make it look like they are one of the poor victims, when in fact they are just perpetuating the scam, hoping that in a few weeks people will just give up. You watch, how many of these sad individuals come back onto this board claiming that they have suddenly received their items in the post.

The email posted above shows what they are up to. It is no coincidence that they hope to send out items at the end of this week - isn't that being reported on the news as a return to the bad weather? Hence there will be another delay, and so on.

By the way, neither Citylink or any other national courier service has suspended services.... if you think they have, why not pop down to the post office, it's amazing what services they offer down there!
  • thanks Karlos911 for the confirmation - however I agree with the others, it most probably is another step / delay in the scam.

I've just sent another e-mail - if I don't get a satisfactory response in the next day, I shall be fighting for my money back..
Maybe I'm a fool to leave it this long... I shall report back on my next steps - and continue to view this thread to see if anyone has had any progress (goods delivered or money back)......
Thanks to those on here who are giving useful advise.

Wow, I'm really convinced now! The more posts we get like this the more convinced I am that people are flushing their money down the drain.
  • I am not jumping to their defence, just to refer starkraving (and anybody else) to

(remove the several spaces at the beginning) I assume that Bury St Edmunds would probably fall under a Chelmsford Depot for City Link. A found this just by a quick google! I only think its right that if giving opinions an individual is correct.

I am still waiting to hear from anybody who has actually said they have been conned, and not just very bad 'suspicious' service.
If I identify a substantiated Fraud I have the ability (and knowledge) to accelerate an investigation.

I must admit however the latest post by stopthecon does perpetuate the paranoia on this thread.

Come on Anthony John Ensinger fan club, think up a new strategy, this is getting boring (apologies to anu genuine newbie),
  • Hi I have registered to this site today, simply to share my advice with you all regarding this company.

I, along with everyone else on this thread contacted the company a couple of weeks ago and ordered a dyson animal for £119.99 inc dely. This was £20 cheaper than the best deal I could get elsewhere. Not a massive saving but a good one none the less.

I have today received the email saying they cannot process the order due to technical difficulties....and so on.

Being a Police Officer (Devon and Cornwall Constabulary) I was immediately suspicious and rang the number on the email. The number went straight to an untitled answerphone where I left my details asking for a call back. I didnt get one.

I then searched on the net, and found this thread!

I then rang again and got an answer from a male called John Essinger.
I told him what I do for a living and my concerns over his enterprise. I asked him a few questions and I can share with you his response....

He tells me that they are in the throws of changing credit card providers but could not give me an exact date when that will happen.
They (or he) buys in bulk straight from dyson.

I have told him about the concerns about their whole operation, (credit card issues, customer service, not answering phone calls/emails etc)
He states they are a genuine company.

I have told him that I will not be giving him any of my bank details and as a Police Officer the fraudulent alarm bells are ringing.
I have advised him that I will be passing details on to the relevant investigation unit; if he is genuine, he has nothing to worry about.

    My advice to you is:
If you have had an email like myself, dont pass on your bank details to a company you know nothing about.
If you feel worried about the transaction contact your trading standards department who will investigate.

If you are prepared to wait, contact the company in January 2011 and find out if their credit card system is up and running and order one then.

The above is common sense practical advice. I dont need to put my personal feelings on here about Mr Essinger as that wouldnt be right.
However, if it helps Ill be waiting until the New Year and getting one elsewhere.

Hope this is of some use.

i would agree its suspicious service but for me they delivered. I did ring the accountants number posted earlier King & King in london and spoke to Caroline. She then rang Utopia via a number she couldn't give me and they then returned the call saying it should arrive later in the week...it was...16 hours later..Would i buy from anybody else using a similar operation....definitely not. Would i buy from Utopia again? Possibly as it was such a great deal...but they do need to get their act together if they don't want to have a seriously damaged reputation.
