I ordered my Dyson on the 15 Nov had no response from Utopia. Emails ignored and unable to get through on the phone until late one night 6 Dec I got through to Utopia Sales who said my Dyson would be delivered Wednesday 8th December

I too don't understand the psychology of all these happy buyers who haven't posted on MSE before who are rushing to to say how great everything is. We know there are unfortunately scammers out there, we also know that companies' engineer positive feedback - case in point, I wrote a factual but fair report on a company that I have dealt with over several years, who let me down - the company then offerred me £20 to remove it - when I declined, lo and behold we have new posters saying how brilliant the company is - strange as it always appears after a negative report!

The purpose of this thread is to warn people that sending bank transfers to companies they have not dealt with before is a risky business. Really Utopia (who I gather are reading this) would be better advised to get their business model sorted, after all it is now over 3 months since they stated they have a CC problem - if they can't get a merchant account with the CC's, there is probably a very good reason - if the CC's are not prepared to take the risk, should you?

Now that does it for me!! I suggest that you have shot yourself in the foot here. Why is it only first time posters want to say how good it is? Surely, all things being equal, there would be more satisfied old-hands than first timers reporting here. The fact that only first timers are saying bloomin marvellous does scream SCAM.

I did try and order one of these, but the risk profile was dodgy - so in response I suggested first COD - no answer; then asked Utopia to confirm cancellation - no answer.

If the company is so marvellous why does "Anthony" not reply (I got only read receipts!).

I can understand everyones concerns and I have been constantly monitoring this site for the last couple of weeks having ordered a DC31 on 24/11/10. I did not become aware of the concerns until after I had sent my cheque. I made one call to Eutopia [no threats] and one e mail, both were answered. I then ended up getting an e mail this last week with a FedEx tracking number which came up as nothing when checked with Fedex, but believe it or not a FedEx van has just delivered my DC31 and the parcel did have the same tracking number on it. I would not do business with Eutopia again because of all the worry but he has eventually delivered the goods and I see that the prices have gone up on his website. I have never put posts on any sites like this before and I have only done this to give some hope to those of you who are still waiting for orders to be delivered.

BOTTOM LINE, IF ANYBODY IS READING THIS IS DO NOT USE UTOPIA. ITS OBVIOUS ALL OF THESE FIRST POSTERS ARE UTOPIA TRYING TO FACILITATE THEIR SCAM. NEVER PAY BACS OR CHEQUE FOR ONLINE PURCHASE.

Can everyone please report this company to Consumer Direct. I can't post a link here but just google "consumer direct report a scam" The more complaints they get, the more likely that action will be taken.



In addition, if you're like me, I will make life very difficult for them.....

I am a first time user on here and i am in the same boat as many others, i placed an order without checking out the company first and have not received my Dyson DC31.
I am currently awaiting a response as to when i might receive my order after transferring the monies over to him last week. I called him after finding this thread on Friday and was reassured that everyone had been receiving their orders and that this was all rubbish... i am beginning to think otherwise as i have tried calling the company many times this week and it just says the mail box is full and he has not come back to my emails i have sent.
If i do receive it then i will obviously eat my words and apologise, but i have that sinking feeling that i have just lost my money.

i stupidly have parted with cash and i am a little worried although i have had a fedex ref which is valid but the dyson hasn't left Utopia.I have rung the accountants who say everything is above board. I intend to keep ringing them until either i get my dyson or my money back....

The accountant does not comment on the company.

I just let them know what sort of company (your company) that they are being associated with. Once they get a few more phone calls and faxes they'll be ditching you pretty sharpish.

Don't know who you are but they did and i will continue to ring until something happens.I did it with safestyle sales once and i tied up there line that much they couldnt get the money back quick enough.

well i haven't received a fedex ref and still believe that there is something seriously wrong... i have now just tried the accountants again and all i am getting there is a voice mail!!

Starkraving - i think you need to calm down as there are obviously some genuine people on here just trying to get some sort of help and yes we realise we have been idoits parting with our hard earned cash so easily!
