i used to work for js and we werent told to metion if a product was on BOGOF, if i scanned a product through and i knew it was on offer eg BOGOF i would say "exscuse me you do know this is on offer" and they would either say "thankyou ill go get another" or "no thanks, just 1 would do"No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

Put me off for good. Always use the butcher now.
I've had this happen too - with fish from Morrison's, which was well within its 'sell by' date. In addition, often you can see that some of the packs are inflated slightly, indicating they've gone off:rolleyes: . I've even taken stuff from the veg counter to an assistant to point out it's mouldy  .
After reading this thread I suddenly wondered why in hell I shop there, I'll be trying Tesco's next week as I got my 1,000 points in vouchers for using their home phone service - now changed to Sky as it's cheaper though:dance: .
I'm really glad a friend recommended this site, it's so useful!!! Thanks everyone for the great recommendations and advice:T :T :T

Hi.
I'm a fairly new poster, and, shop frequently in Morrisons all over the place (we have a touring caravan!) We also shop at Marks & Spencer's, Asda,Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi etc.
If a shop is well managed, I find that the staff are more motivated, and shopping is made more pleasant.
BTW I was an Assistant Buyer for the House of Fraser, and studied for Retail Management Qualifications.0 -

At what point does someone pay for their shopping with Morrisons and then have half of it taken away or somehthing like that? Or are they selling you something and promising it then not giving it to you? I think you are a little to green to say things like that bud. Lets report then to trading standards and the EHO's of the local authority too. In fact I am sure the tannoy at tesco gave me a headache the other day so I think I maight sue them for that. How much further should I go?
As for M being a textbook bad business case then I did not realise to be classed as bad you had to make a profit and grow a business. These are in fact the only points that almost all business theories agree are factors of a sucess.
I completely agree and don't think people realise what bodies such as Trading Standards or a program like Watchdog are actually interested in.
I work in a shop myself and had a Trading Standards officer come once. Some old guy had reported us for some buy on get on half price promotion or something along those lines. It was one of those cases where if you read the small print it clearly stated what was in this offer.
Anyway this Trading Standards guy said 'I've only come because he won't stop calling!' He was furious and continued 'There's granny's being ripped off by thousands of pounds & I've got to look at a sign!'
I got the feeling that nit picking on signs isn't the top of their priority list!0 -
I personally do not havea gripe with Morrisons - the one in my town seems ok and they have greatly increased the number of disabled parking spaces.
My sister had a very bad experience with them (in a different town). She bought a dvd with her shopping and did not realise it wasn't in the case (she'd recently moved out of home with mum & dad and was new to all this;) ) and the lad on the checkout didn't get the disc for her.
When she realised, she went back to the store with her receipt and explained and the woman on customer services actually said her,' I don't believe you, you are trying it on'. She wrote numerous letters to head office but never got anywhere, so she paid £20 for an empty DVD box!
They just didn't seem interested about this situation or their staffs rudeness.Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.0 -
i hate to slag off one particular supermarket but i have to agree morrisons is by far .. the worst in my eyes...shame, seeing as i love sean bean doing the voice overs !!! anyway, i lived in the city close to morrisons and i had numerous complaints, such as returning stuff and the thing that used to bug me was morrisons own brand stuff was invariably not available, on one occasion there were 5 basic items i needed that were not available ..(washing powder, toilet roll, washing liquid, soya milk and a sack of potatoes) which i bought to the managers attention and all i got told was stuff had to be ordered and deliveries had to be waited for, this was for a tuesday morning, not late on a saturday. i bought stuff that tasted awful and returned it and they told me that was tough ... no such thing as the customer was right et al.....or offer of compensation. i thought it was just me and non compatibility and chose to overlook a lot of gripes i had with them, then i moved to a rural area which also has a morrisons close by, this time i got hauled over the coals by the morrisons manager by using a 2 wheeler shopping trolley sold by THEIR OWN MORRISONS. i was told to use either a hand basket or a trolley to do my shopping as i was considered a security hazard. when i actually most surprisedly asked what on earth did he mean and was he implying that i was stashing things in my bag without paying, i told him he could search me if he wished, and how could i be construed as using a shopping trolley bought from morrisons as a security risk .. considering ppl shop carrying things, pushing things, taking care of others, ppl needing crutches or sticks to walk, children rushing about, etc if they are talking about carrying a bomb or something, well ... im surely not the only potential risk or target .. he told me i could put my shopping trolley into the customer service bay to be looked after (hmm i thought and what if it isnt, and who will take the responsibility if it disappears) so now i put my 2 wheeled shopping trolley into the 4 wheeled shopping trolley .. not only that i have found on several occasions items that were whoopsed to have been charged the full price, items that have been whoopsed to be "off/mouldy/broken/not fit for use" (ie soya milk was already churning, bread was so deformed that only 6 slices were capable of being used for a sandwich out of the whole loaf) and their items that are reduced are hardly reduced to any great difference, such as there were several tins of soups, beans, that ilk, but were still priced up at 69p or so which i thought wasnt worth the effort or risk and i do try and deal with all people in a non confrontational and placid way as i struggle with mental health issues myself and i am always very grateful when assistance and help is there, but i do find morrisons to be a difficult store to approach and communicate with0
