You do need to provide an itemised list of charges with the date, amount and charge name. It is different for reclaiming if you're a business, see this thread for discussion:

Yes, I provided an itemised list of charges, stating date, amount and reason for charge ( either returned item or excess o/d charge ) but I claimed in exactly the same way for both personal and business account, both with the Bank of Scotland0 -
can anyone help. my husband and I have a very small business and have tried to claim bank charges from Lloyds TSB but have received a letter back stating that the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations & Unfair Contracts Terms Act does not apply to us as we are business customers not consumers. Any advice on whether we can still claim the couple of thousand pounds we have been charged or is this the end of the line.0

You are actually in a better position than those trying to claim from current accounts because the OFT have reiterated that business accounts are not a part of the test case.
Proceed with your claim on the principles of common law and leave out any reference to UTCCR.0 -
Dear Martin
please can you help as i want to know if i can claim back all those charges on a buisness account.
what it is we had a buisness of 4 years and when we went to pay our account off my husband said i want to pay my overdraft as we have closed the buisness, so we paid all that was left on account and the account was clear, so about 2 months later a letter came and said we owe them £300.
we phoned them up and said we dont owe anything as we paid the account off they said this is interest you have left to pay, now if they had of said this when we were paying it all off we would of paid it, we now keep geting debt letters to say we have to pay this, so now we are that cross i think do we have to pay this? we also now think as the bank didnt do us any favours as the amount of charges they charged us in the last 4 years ex: returned cheques at £35. and all other charges can we claim all this back.
Please help as i am at a limbo as i dont know wot to do
many thanks i do hope you make sense of this letter
The bank is Bank of Ireland in the Northern Ireland.
Thanks again

hi,
i have 250 pounds worth of charges on a business account and the 30 it cost me to put a claim in.
However HSBC have wrote back to me saying they will only pay me 110 because its a business account and in their words
'the basis of service charges applied to commercial accounts is completly differentot o personal accounts. the Unfair terms in consumer contract regulations 1999 do not apply to business customers as they are not consumers for the purposes of the regulations.'
so do i accept the 110 or carry on for the 280, also what happens if OFT lose will i get nothing at all
thanks0 -
I am sure I read on this site months ago about how, as the owner of a limited company, I could reclaim unfair bank charges, though not with the same protection afforded to consumers. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks0 -
It's based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations. Youa re not a consumer.0

We are a partnership (mr + mrs trading as.... ) not limited company.
We won a claim from The Co-op may 07.
The Lloyds claim (business acct ) is still in my file as we got a fob off, didn't have the MCOL fee at the time and then the OFT thingy happened in July 07.
I was waiting to see the outcome but it looks like a stitch up to me plus I have heard that if the banks lose, they will appeal and drag the whole process out.....
I think you may have helped me (a lot !) on another site last year.
I am now re-considering what to do.
I have unsettled CC claims too (we received part settlements into the accounts but no interest) and have read that these are still being heard by the courts, not stayed.
I will pop over onto the other site too as I think I may need nannying through it a bit.
Thanks for your time0 -
