Which charges are you trying to claim for?
There's a thread on this board about it - if it's for unpaid cheques/direct debits etc then that's possible, if it's normal transaction charges then they are for a service so outside the scope of this campaign.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
Over the last few years I have had lots of bank charges on my Business Bank account with A&L. This account is in the process of being closed. However am I able to try a claim for a business account?
thanks
EDIT: Sorry I didn't realise that I'd posted this in the wrong place originally. So looks like I need to read all 28 pages of this thread!0 -
Dear All
Thanks for all the info relating to this tread, great stuff, so help anyone else the answer to the question is yes you can claim business charges! The difference is that you have to put a different Act under which you are claiming.
Can claim under The Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.
Also the charges are not part of the test case, so no need to wait!
I hope that helps!0 -
Hello All
Please can anyone assist, I set up a business account with HSBC a while ago, recently I went overdrawn slightly, however due to my working hours, I didnt notice until a month later by this time they had charged me £170 for going overdrawn without the facilility to do so.
Attempted to make a payment through my bank to settle this but failed twice, and next available date I went into bank to pay charges, however by this time they had charged another £170, I decided to write a letter to explain what happened and I refuse to pay those silly amounts of money.
Had a reply advising they would give me £79, and also recieved a new statement saying they were going to charge another £170, Ive explained over the phone I want them to freeze the account at least until I can go to the branch to speak to someone.
But they wont do this and my hours are silly for me to be able to nip to the bank.
Am I within right to reclaim these charges even tho its a business account?0 -
Abbey: are 'Cash Deposited Exceeded' reclaimable?
I have an Abbey business account & wondered if the above narrative against charges i've received are re-claimable?"onwards & upwards"0 -
Hiya,
I recently wrote to Barclays Bank to reclaim business bank charges of £2000. They replied very swiftly and offered £475. I'm not sure whether to bite the bullet and accept the full and final settlement OR wait to see what transpires with the test case. I've got 28 days in which to accept.
What does everyone think? Your thoughts would be welcomed

My father has a claim for over £97000 going through at the moment and his claim includes 'Cash Deposited Exceeded' so you can claim for that!0 -
Hi
My husband and I are totally new to this and are wanting to claim back our bank charges.
We have had 2 sole accounts & 1 joint account with HSBC and he has had business accounts with HSBC & Barclays.
Can we claim the charges for unath o/draft fees? bouncing ddr? returning our cheque fees? returning customers cheques paid into our account fees? then the fees they charge again at the end of the month?
I have read on other threads that I can get my HSBC statements online which I am in the process of doing but I just want to bee 100% want I can claim for instead of looking an idit?
Please help?!!!!0 -
A friend of mine has received excessive bank charges on his business account as well as his personal account.
Is he able to claim any of these back as LLoyds TSB state that business accounts cannot claim these back.
Can anyone shed any light on this?0
