So the fact they state in the letter that he can't is a blatent attempt to get out of this!? Would this be legal??...Thanks for your kind help....0

Well, why do you think they have been paying out hundreds of millions to avoid this being examined in court?0
-
Yes, you can reclaim it all. I reclaimed thousands on my business account.0

I quote from the letter he received from Lloyds on charges on his business account...
"You may also be interested to know that the unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulation & Unfair Contracts Terms act 1977,which are widely quoted in support of complaints that overdraft charges are unfair, do not apply to you. This is because you're a business customer and the regulations and act only apply to consumers.
Also another interesting point...When he'd received his reply conserning illegal charges, approximatley 7 arrived in seperate envelopes over a two day period.  ....Do they charge for this?0 -

My husband and I are totally new to this and are wanting to claim back our bank charges.
We have had 2 sole accounts & 1 joint account with HSBC and he has had business accounts with HSBC & Barclays.
Can we claim the charges for unath o/draft fees? bouncing ddr? returning our cheque fees? returning customers cheques paid into our account fees? then the fees they charge again at the end of the month?
I have read on other threads that I can get my HSBC statements online which I am in the process of doing but I just want to bee 100% want I can claim for instead of looking an idit?
Please help?!!!!
You can't claim the service charges for running a business account such as for providing cash, banking cash and cheques and annual review charges.0 -
I had a small business which I had to close down last year with debts of around 30k. One of the hardest things to deal with were the constant bank charges for "over" my agreed overdraft. The 30k debt was the total of all my debts including suppliers, Barclay's Bank, Egg card, Tax man. etc.
The Bank were the real hyenas! I had a 15k overdraft for about five years but because I constantly lived just over this figure they charged me constantly. (Sometimes up to £750 a quarter)
They eventually told me I had to convert to a bank loan at a very high interest rate.
I had know choice as they were calling the overdraft in!
Can I claim for a small business being overcharged up untill the point I HAD to convert to a loan.
I was a sole trader with a barclays small business account.
I tried many time to get them to lower my charges to no avail.
I haven't tried to reclaim anything back as I have just assumed I wouldnt be eligible.
Nothing like losing your business for knocking your confidence!
Can anyone help please?0 -
Hi
I am in the process of a claim with BOS, but I hold a business account with them.
They have offered me a tiny amount as a 'gesture of goodwill' but in comparison it's nothing.
Do the usual rules apply with a business bank account?
Many thanks0
