Business Account - reclaiming bank charges
Comments

Can you confirm the web address for the business account templates, please? Also two questions regarding business charges please.
1. When claiming back for business charges, can you claim all commission charges ?
e.g " auto entries"
"Standard entries"
"Maintenance fees"
"acct control fees"
"Overdraft lending fee"
I.E Can anyone actually clarify what constitutes business charges that can be claimed for?
2. Can I also claim back charges on a Barclays Business Company credit card?
Thanks !0 -
Does anyone know if the bank charges reclaim rule applies to small businesses as well? I have a friend who had to close down her business a couple of years ago because she was constantly being charged £100 a time for being overdrawn. I would appreciate if anyone could give me advice.0

Hi All
I have just received my 6 years of statements from HSBC for my business account. The monthly charges on each statement are not itemised and appear as one figure. My problem being how do I distinguish between lawful charges, eg, service charges for entries and withdrawals, and the unlawful charges that they are so fond of. I was wondering if anyone could advise on how to calculate these charges or how best to approach HSBC so that I can proceed to the next stage of reclaiming the unlawful charges. Many thanks for any advice offered.

Hi,
Can I claim bank charges back on my business account or are claims only for personal accounts?
Thanks!0 -
Yes, but you need to base your argument on different legal principles depending on whether you are part of a limited company or sole trader - take a read through this thread:

Apologies if this has been asked before - I did a certain amount of reading the old posts in this forum, but couldn't find anything.
I'm the independant examiner for a local charity, and they ended up paying quite a lot in bank charges last year (mainly due to one of their utilities taking a large direct debit). Do the same principles about reclaiming unfair bank charges apply as for personal accounts?0 -
youd have to contact each person individually to begin an individual claim.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
Sorry - probably didn't make this clear. It's the charity itself that's been hit with the bank charges, not their 'clients.' I know charity bank accounts are a bit unusual, in that they are technically business accounts but are usually charged as for personal accounts. But I'm not sure this makes any fundamental difference to the principle of reclaiming charges.0

Can I reclaim Business account bank charges i.e The charges banks make on buisness customers for writing cheques, paying in cash, to pay a direct debit. my bank charges 30p to 70p per any one of the above actions is this fair? or can you only recaim charges for going over your overdraft or unpaid direct debits? I would be interested on any comments thanks.0
