Hiya has anyone got any advice please ? My husband had a business acc with hsbc and got charges about £753 over the period of the acc being open , the acc is now closed . We have sent a letter to claim back these charges and the bank have sent an offer of just £280 . It says they think they would win if this went on to court so this is their final offer . What should we do now ? anyone got any ideas ? We dont want to accept this offer as its so much less than what they have charged .

    Thanks

Over in CAG website and BBC website. A man recently took Natwest to court for bank charges on his business account totalling £34,000 and won! maybe you should take a look at those stories.
    Good Luck

Are you referring to transaction charges, interest or excess charges?

  • I have claimed bank charges and have a CPR 18 from Cobbetts. I claimed under the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts not realising there was a different Unfair Contract Act for small businesses. Cobbetts have not mentioned this in their letter and I have not received anything from the court yet. Do I need to amend my claim to the court
    Would appreciate some help. Thanks

We had a business acc with hsbc and it was closed down about 3 years ago now , we asked for and got our statements fairly quickly from hsbc and then added up the charges we can claim back , this came to £753 . We sent our first letter to ask for our money back and got a reply offering us just £280 of that . Im looking for a letter template i can use to accept this only as partial payment and the lba letter . For some reason i can not find a template for the lba letter for business users, could someone please point me in the right direction please ?
My husband is no longer in business because of me taking ill with me/cfs so this money would help us loads . We just need to get it sorted .

    Thanks
