I was wondering if anyone has tried to claim back charges on a business bank account. My husband has his own business (it is just him and me) and is charged for every transaction. He is also charged £100 every year to have the privilege of an overdraft. Any advice would be great. Thanks

I was wondering if anyone has tried to claim back charges on a business bank account (ours is lloydstsb). My husband has his own business (it is just him and me) and is charged for every transaction. Obviously cash flow is very up and down and any charges makes a difference. He is also charged £100 every year to have the privilege of an overdraft. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  • Yes, any charges for exceeding limit, bounced d/d/cheques etc are unlawful. Follow the same procedure as advised on this board.

    Good luck

Yes you can. Check out the Consumer Action Group site and forums. Loads of help with business accounts.
  • Hi Guys

I have just settled with Abbey for £5000, just less than the full amount I was claiming on my personal bank account. (Hooray!!!!!!!), but was wondering if I can claim back my charges on my business account, which I know has had quite a few bank charges over the years. I can't see any reason why this should be a problem, but wanted to check before I started the who process. Also, would the process be exactly the same as I am the sole named person on the business account.

    Hi,

This weekend I have decided it is time to act and do something, never mind all the what ifs, something! is better than nothing!

I have done a search but either couldn't find the right words or missed it so sorry if this is a post lots of people have done before.

I only have 2 bank accounts, Both with Barclays, 1 personal account and 1 business account.

I am a sole trader and most of my charges are on the business account.

Is it possible to do this claiming charges back procedure on a business account if you are a Sole Trader?

    Thanks,

    Dave
  • I have received a letter from my bank saying as I have a business account I cannot claim as not covered by consumer act, has anybody else heard this?
