Business Account - reclaiming bank charges

Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me!!!!! Our Business bank account was closed mainly because of bank charges & unable to pay them. We have since cleared this debt - what we need to know is can we still claim charges back?

You can claim back from a Business Account but you can't use Consumer law to fight your claim, you have to use differently worded templates/letters.

Can anyone help?

I used to have 3 Bank Of Scotland business accounts for my 3 separate businesses. These were all with my business partner and we were both signatories. Only one of these businesses remain and we have since changed this to a limited company.

I have charges on all 3 accounts which I wish to claim back, however I am now married and so have a different surname. So my questions are...

1. How do I advise BOS to make payment?

2. If they make payment to me and my business partner jointly then I will not be able to bank the cheque as we do not have a joint account. Can I ask them to make the cheque payable to myself or my business partner?

3. If they make it payable to me, how can I make them make it out to my married name?

4. I don't want them to pay it to my existing business as not all the charges were from this business. What do I do???????

Simple question, can my company challenge the banks for their charges placed on my company from time to time, the term used is 'commission' if that makes any difference?

Firstly i will apologise if this topic has already been covered,however i have searched the main site and scaned through this thread to no avial.
I am currantly reclaiming charges with help obtained from this site regarding my personel account with the alliance and leiceter. My question is i also have a business account with the hsbc as a sole trader which ceased trading approx 18 months ago after a failed venture. i've been paying back an overdraft and have been struggling to do so what with extra charges being applied.Ive manged to get the account to £0.00 only to be given another charge £149.28 as i had removed the agreed overdraft facility.This is the straw to break the camels back.

Can i reclaim bank charges on a business account the same as a personel account. i would really appreciate some guidance many thanks in advance.

Yes you can claim, and the process is slightly different in that you cannot rely on consumer law in your particulars of claim or letters. there are some good templates on the penalty charges website and consumer action group for reclaiming as a business.
