Business Account - reclaiming bank charges
Comments

Hope someone can advise on this. This is a reply from the bank after the initial letter was sent."You have requested information in relation to the above account for all charges applied over the last six years. The data protection act relates purely to personal data and therefore business acc transactions fall outside the scope of the act.Should you wish to obtain duplicate statements there will be a fee of £7 per sheet"
Are they right?0 -
I think you'll find they are if you read back on previous posts in this thread.0

My business is being clobbered by bank charges for much the same reason that personal bankers are getting done over.
Does anyone know if the 'reclaiming' method applies to business banking too?
If so, please let me know as the bank is actually slowly crippling me.

My Abbey business account address is in Glasgow, which is obviously outside the jurisdiction of the County Court system. Can I use Abbey's head office address which is in London, as shown on my cheque book? I did initially though, send my first 2 letters as downloaded from this site, to the Glasgow address and got the usual 'get lost' reply. I have given it a go, and today filed my papers through the link on this site. Ski.0

Hi.
I am trying to claim charges etc back on a friends HSBS business account. I have his statements for the last four years.
There are numerous entries of £28 for returned DDS which I know I can reclaim. He is also charged a "management Fee" which can vary from £50 to £100 sometimes as many times as twice in three days which according to them is for "account intervention". So can I reclaim that as excessive?
Every three months he is charged "total charges" for cheques etc which must be legit.
Then mid month he is charged for "acquiring charges" which I rang up about and was vaguely told could include a default charge.
Im really confused. Any advise would be much appreciated. Hes paid out thousands and Im in line for a 50% cut of anything he gets back.
Thanks.0 -
I'll give it a go if I don't hear anything. Then I'll hit them with my second business bank account at the same time!0

I have been in business and have had my accounts with the same bank for in excess of 20 years.
I have an agreed overdraft facility of £10,000. Every year I am charged 'an overdraft set up fee' of £250. None of my details change. The amount on my agreed overdraft facility does not change. Are these charges reclaimable? Can a bank warrant a £250 charge to renew an overdraft facility that does not change?

Help! We have a small business account and two personal accounts with Barlcays. On one personal account we have been charged in excess of £2000. Have not worked out yet how much we have been charged on the other accounts. However, I do know that in the last 6-12 months it's probably not short of £1000 on the business account.
Q: Can we claim the bank charges back in the same way on the business account as we would for a personal account? And
Q: Can we also claim the interest that the bank have charged as well as the unpaid referral fees and the bounced dds etc?0
