Yes Just had a look at Ontel site and there is the Phone Pal available for non B.T. customers:o But it can only be used on the socket that the phone is plugged into so if you have extensions you want to use you will have to move the Phone pal around, unless you can use more than one Phone pal.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Derrick - no need for
, if Onetel (and others) made it clear what their offers entailed, there would be half the traffic on this forum!

Does anyone know - do you have to refer a friend through Onetel (ie when logged in) or can you use the link that comes out in the e-mail? I sent a couple of messages to different e-mail accounts that I have and the tracking link appears to be the same?

Yes, Onetel works on NTL.
You can request more than one paypal - not sure whether there is a charge but as I have three and not paid for any of them, I assume not! If you only have one route in for your phone, then you only need one Phone.Pal - any extensions then running through that box will automatically use the Phone.Pal. If you have more than one phone line physically coming into the house (I know that NTL kindly installed socets upstairs as well for us - only 1 number though), then you will either have to remember to only use the one line for outgoing calls (not a likely scenario!) or request another - once you have the account set up, log in and look under Account & Service Overview>Services Overview>Landline - it lists which package you are on and Phone.Pal there - next to Phone.Pal it also has "Request another Phone.Pal".

I phoned the Indian callcentre (which reminded me of bad experiences of Tiscali's indian call centre)

However, I've just read the following:Telecoms giant BT has joined the growing band of Western firms to transfer call centre operations to India, at a cost of 2,000 UK jobs.0 -

Both the 'free' £20 and 'free' £3.99 a month from One-Tel are in the form of call credits rather than just discounts.
I tried to register on line via Rpoints, found out my phone number had already been registered with them. So called the free phone number. He tried to fob me off about its either the £3.99 credit or the £20 credit. While on the phone pulled up the web page and told him that it was both. He checked with his manager and finally replied that it was ok to have both. Also he told me that I could not apply on line as the phone was already registered. Which in reply to that was that he could forget his package, and to get my telephone line unregistered. After going to see his manager again, he told me that I could register online in a few days time. After doing battle will be a happy bunny because I have managed to get the £12.50 via Rpoints, £3.99 credit a month and the £20 credit. I would not have done this if I was not a member of this wonderful website. It give you courage and hope. Please keep up the good work everyone.
